A question about : Using a debit card in Gibraltar
Hi
Does anyone know if it's fee free to use a debit card to withdraw cash and for purchases in Gibraltar? They use Sterling so I'm inclined to believe it should be fee free. I bank with Santander and asked them about this via email but the response seemed to be a copy and paste job about using a card abroad!
Thanks for any replies.
Best answers:
- Got back today and just checked my online banking, they didn't charge fees! I don't know if was due to there being no exchange rate as they use pounds in Gibraltar, or if it's because I bank with Santander. Either way, happy days!
- I bank with Santander and pay fees on my international card payments in Euros, Rands and Dollars - so I don't think it may be that (unless your a premier banking customer).
I believe that RBS Retail Bank's (Natwest, Ulster & RBS) don't charge fees in Gibraltar, Jersey and also IOM too (although I may be corrected).
