Unwanted mushroom type thingys

A question about : Unwanted mushroom type thingys

I have these growing out the sides of my hanging baskets

How has this happened? How can I get rid of them?

• What did you use in your baskets? it sounds as if you may have some mushroom compost in there......
• I used expensive hanging basket compost
• It should of been ok then but thats the only thing I can think of.. that some used mushroom compost got mixed in with it... do they look like normal 'eating' mushrooms?
  Only thing to do is keep picking them off and disposing of them.....
  what a shame....
