A question about : UK Real landline numbers, not 0800 /0845
ok connection just crashed or something so this will be the skinny version now:
We need a forum page where people can post real uk landlines for companies who insist on only supplying 0800 and 0845 numbers. I only have a mobile phone plan, and hate paying premium rates for these numbers. Some companies have a 'call from abroad' number on their site, which is eg. 0207, but many of the b*ggrs do not.
I'll start you off; DVLA uk landline is 01792 782341
-this is a useful one because like so many others, they keep you waiting, listening to a load of useless info from a computer voice, for ages.
keep up the good work

 - Aren't 0800 numbers free from a landline (I know the UK mobile networks charge for 0800 and 0500 calls)?
- that dvla numer worked fine for me today, updating because I found it here through google so others might too. The first number given by the original poster is correct. I use an Orange live phone and have to pay for 0800 numbers, I would also pay local call rates with BT, but a normal landline is free on Orange phones. Why should I pay?
- Shouldn't this thread be on the phones board?
