A question about : Turn internal hard drives to external for Ј3.34

One of my external hard drives died because the usb socket detached itself. I was able to remove the hard drive and expect to be able to access it using this little gadget which seems crazily cheap! (Free delivery too.)

Please note that I have not taken delivery of this yet so do not know if it will work. Could not find any reviews. I am presuming that it is usb 2 so no good if you are in a hurry. But I have a small pile of hard drives I have removed from PCs which I hope to use as backup drives now.

• Cheers, I wonder if it's a misprice, although it could be them clearing old stock as I remember that style of adaptor being about Ј15-20 last time I looked (a year or two ago).
  For Ј3 I'll give it a shot as I tend to need such devices on a fairly regular basis, and it looks easier than my old IDE one.

  There seem to be some issues with compatibility and performance - although at Ј3.34 you may not be too fussed!

• When you start ripping your external hard drives that are faulty to bits don't be surprised if you find that the hard drive itself does not actually have a SATA connector. A lot of, especially 2.5, external drives have a custom interface especially designed for external drives.
• Mine arrived today. Works okay with SATA drives but not had much success with IDE drives yet.
