A question about : Trust Deed Query
Hi all,
I have a protected trust deed which is due to finish next January.
I have recently began a new job (no wage difference) and need a car to get to my place of work.
My husband (who I married after the trust deed was signed) has recently taken out finance for a new car but since he cannot drive the car ownership is in my name.
Before I contact the TD company, does anyone know how/will this affect my TD status?
Many thanks in advance.
Lottie
Best answers:
- The person named as the "registered keeper" for a car on the V5 is not the same as the legal owner of the vehicle.
If your husband has taken the finance out is his name then he is the legal owner (or hiring owner), even if it is then registered in your name.
Trust deeds are not something I am that up on, but if you are concerned that it could be seen as your property then this should not be the case.
