I've used transferwise.com to send money to Canada a few times and saved about Ј40 as compared to using my bank or paypal, etc. It was quick, as well.

Transferwise supports lots of different currencies, including GBP, EUR, USD, CAD, AUD, CHF and more.

They charge the mid-market (ie, fair) rates plus a small fee. Transferwise was founded by the people who made Skype.

If you use my referral link, your first transfer (up to Ј3000) has no fees. If 3 people use my link, I get some money as a thank-you.

• Hello, I have tried to send money to my aunt in Canada through transferwise but it has not appeared in her account. Transferwise say the bank has it but the bank say it is nowhere in their system. Should it be transferwise who is responsible to find where the money went?
  This is also my first time using a forum so not quite sure if I'm in the right place!
