Transfer of Car

A question about : Transfer of Car

I have my car insured with 3 named drivers including eldest daughter.

I want to give the car to my eldest daughter as a birthday present as a surprise. She is at university living away from home during term time.

Is it possible to arrange DVLA transfer and change of insurance in advance without the knowledge of my daughter or will she need to be aware and have to sign documentation herself.?

From my limited research it seems to be not to be possible.

Has anyone found a way to handle this?

• Changing ownership on the V5C will probably mean the tax will expire and be refunded to the current keeper, you/she will have to retax it again.
