A question about : Solar PV Friendly Home Insurance

Having an issue with renewing home insurance on comparison sites as some insurers require you to ring up for a telephone quote if you have panels fitted.

Who are people insured with and which insurers are Solar PV friendly? Our current insurance is Halifax but they want double what the best price is on the comparison sites so need to shop round.

A question about : Solar panels

Hi,

I moved into a house which has solar panels in the garden....

Our first FIT payments were around Ј80 each ..two in total from January to August.

Our August payment was only Ј10 - long story short the inverter was replaced. The running of the panels etc was checked out at the time of replacement and deemed ok.

We just had the last payment and it was Ј12 from November to February.

There is no shadowing and they obviously haven't been moved....

What can be the problem?

A question about : Advice on quotes.

Everything going over and over in my head, virtually there now, one last query though.

Currently, my roof's completely bathed in sun at 9am (little bit shading from house across the street before that) and in the afternoon, another neighbours roof shades mines completely by around 3.30. Obviously this will improve as summer comes along and the suns higher in the sky.

By 4.30, the suns more to the rear of my house than the front and the panels wont have direct sunshine.

So I have a solar system, I understand how the FIT works etc, what I am not really aware of is transfer of ownership at theg point of purchase of a house.

My dad is buying a semi detached house, and they have had solar panels since approximately November or December last year (I would guess, judging by the figures on their TGM).

A question about : Canadian Solar vs Solarworld

I am torn between this 2 panels both a similar price Ј250-Ј500 difference (two prices in one quote so asking for clarification)

Anyone got any views as to which one I should go for?
