A question about : Swapping items via our Forum

Hi everyone

Please remember while MSE's about saving money it's about doing it safely. You're all strangers on here and we really don't want to see any of you having problems.

Consider it like a pub. You wouldn't give your name and address to someone you'd just met there so please don't do it here. We'd hate to hear reports of Forum users sending items to others and not getting what they were expecting back. Or worse.

Please remember to stay safe online.

Best answers:

  • Plus it clogs up the forum pages for those who are looking for bargains and don't wanna get involved with the swap thing!!!
  • ....and there is more detail on the 'no-swap' policy in the forum rules:

  • Could you not set up a "swap" page? I've given up reading some of the Tesco threads now due to it been full of "swap me! swap me!" post
  • I don't think its a good idea to set up a swap page as it is against the rules anyway , but totally agree it puts people off from reading the threads as I gave up on the T toy thread ages ago which defeats the object of finding bargains and am glad it has been stopped personally!
  • It also highlights the fact that people are just buying things because they are cheap not because they want them and that kinda sad and unfair tbh
  • I think it is OK to set up a swap page.
    Just makes life easier.
  • We can't swap books or things like that? I am a member of Read it, Swap it website and haven't managed to do a successful swap yet.
  • Why? Like Martin says, it's unusual protocol that wouldn't exist elsewhere so why bother online?
