A question about : State Pension in Ireland is Ј182 per week, how does that compare?

I think it is quite generous at Ј182 per week now (conversion @ today's rates) Ђ230 pw.

What is it in UK?

And all pensioners are entitled to free travel throughout Ireland, not means tested, once you are over 66 years.

Under the household benefits package, once you are over 70, you get gas, electric and TV allowances, no matter what your means are.

I think it is great. These people made our country what it is, through very tough times in the past.

No one over here ever complains about senior benefits. We will all be benefitting some day!

I'd like to know what the equivalent is in the UK, if no one minds!

Thanks.
