A question about : Some electrical work

Had a quote for Ј300 in South Wales for the following

Moving the light switches in the bedroom from behind the bedroom door to a more accessible place. This is one switch per bedroom 3 in total flush to the wall not trunking.

4 extra plug sockets(in total) in various rooms

Moving the light/extractor fan pull cord for the bathroom from the hallway to inside the bathroom.

No idea if this is fair as ive never had any electrical work done

Thanks

Best answers:

  • Incredibly reasonable if it includes cutting chases and making good.
  • Sounds very cheap. Make sure you get all the paperwork - for that you'd need several minor works certificates or (as I would do) 1 electrical installation certificate
  • Depends what there doing ? Construction of walls, cable routes etc Days work... You can chase the each wall out in 5 minutes with chaser (spend a week cleaning the dust) longer with drill and chisel bit, longer still hammer and bolster but could be plasterboard , It doesn't appear excessive but then you've got to plaster/ fill and decorate, doors used to open a certain way to allow privacy
If your any good woodwork and if its practical re-hang the doors the other way may make it cheaper
