A question about : Software4students

Has anybody any advice on Software4students I am looking to buy from them for my grandson - is the software OK and are they a legit company?

Best answers:

  • I think they just sell the Student and Teacher Editions of Microsoft software, which is exactly the same as the normal versions, except with a license clause that states you have to be in full time education to use it. I'm sure I've seen posts on these forums saying that the company seems OK.
  • Oh, just found this on the microsoft site: https://www.microsoft.com/uk/educatio...o-default.mspx
So I guess they're as legit as you're going to get
  • Herd good things about them not tried yet myself though.
  • Maybe they didn't go to skool - hence the 4 instead of "for" lol
  • I've used them and yes, they're perfectly legit, and you'll get legit software too. You just need to be (or have a child who is) in full time education.
  • I got ms office from them for an amazingly low price for my grandson. Everything sent as it should be and does what it says on the box.
I would have no probs dealing with them again
  • Bargain :O is this also on the student forum so that the students can see it? Because you can save over Ј400 on the top package! Im going to uni in september and this is exactly what i was looking for. Thanks
  • I read this thread the other day having come across Software4Students - and even though it might seem too good to be true they are absolutely legit! and great service. We ordered on Saturday 27th - arrived yesterday Wed 31st - all proper and legit! You have to register school and student, and software comes through registered to them - which is fine of course.
  • Have ordered higher Microsoft Office package for fraction of cost Dell wanted to charge us - all went through fine. No problem dealing with them again.
    Great service.
  • hi, does anybody know how many time you can install this? On how many different computers?
    Thanks
  • I think most are 2 or 3 user licences from when I've looked at the packages on the site..
  • Ignore this.
  • One desktop and one portable, but the portable covers a laptop.
    Scroll down a little way.

  • Has anyone had any difficulties in getting software form software4students, I ordered some software 14 days ago, and my account has been debited by Ј36.90 (13 days ago) but so far no software has arrived. I have emailed them and been asked to wait another 21 days (last week) when I tried to ring them this morning their phone system is not working properly and all you get is the same message, press one for (etc).
The wife has some important uni work to type up but no software to do it.

  • I'd blame the postman rather than S4S. I'm also a satisfied customer of their prices and prompt service.
  • I am in the same boat. We ordered Office and Windows 7 over 2 weeks ago but no delivery yet. Th eirony is I was in Belfast a week later and could have tried popping in by
I am holding fire though as the postal strike swill have caused an issue and as it is belfast it's not as easy to get good here except by ferry or plane, so limited logistis issues for the Royalmail to catch up.
  • I ordered Office 2007, days before the post strike was mentioned
mine arrived within 48 hours of order, well pleased
1 query though, if anyone can help
there's no serial number with the disc, is this correct
as I'm sure it mentioned on the disc about a serial number
as its for a new xmas (laptop) present, its still sealed
I would of thought the serial would of been on the outside
can anyone confirm if this is correct
    thanks in advance
  • The key sticker should be on the plastic envelope that the disc came in. Mine was.
