A question about : Slight concern after finishing DRO

Hey guys, well it's been a long year but I have finally finished my DRO.

However when I went to start cleaning up my files again I realised a couple of things which have started me worrying again.

Firstly, I'm not sure what happens if I have included a debt which had been sold on to another company? I tried to find all of the debtors online via credit expert and a mixture of my debt letters to get the account numbers. What if for instance a debt was sold to Lowe but the account numbers are different? Would it still be wiped or would they still keep chasing me for it? I haven't had any correspondence over the last year with any of the debtors so do I presume that everything is OK?

Secondly when I was filling in the form to start the credit file clean up, I noticed that I was missing my debt not that came with the confirmation of DRO.....Is it something that I need to send in with the letter? Would the company I got the DRO through still have it on file?

Thanks for your advice

Stuart

  • Hi
The creditors get a CREDNOT and you get a DEBTNOT - ideally both parties keep them as proof of the DRO.
You will note that reference numbers do not appear.
The DRO Unit can supply another copy of the DEBTNOT and confirm the reference numbers the Intermediary originally gave them, if asked.
It doesn't matter if the debt was sold on - if it was originally in the DRO it is covered.
