A question about : Skin Cleansing Brushes

I'm thinking to buy one of those brushes and I'm leaning towards Foreo Mini and get equal to better reviews to Clarisonic.

My budget is not big (max Ј120 I'd say) and getting the best deal is important.

I have dry skin and blackhead problem as well as occasional acne and I do put make up every day albeit not very heavy.

I do have No7 Brush and I think it isn't really that effective.

Also, Philips and Magnitone have good reviews on Boots website. Magnitone is considerably cheaper.

So, I wonder if you do use any of these and do you have any suggestions when it comes to decide what to buy.

Thank you title=Embarrassment

  • I bought the Ј10 Lidl one and liked it enough to invest in the Clinique one. Makes a huge difference when I do use it but it does cause slight problems with a small wart. Awful skin is much better but like anything it doesn't work miracles.
A clinique counter will do you a demo so you aren't buying blind.
  • I had a Foreo and I hate it and it increased my spots everytime I used it and went back to it. I eventually went to the clarisonic and I love it my skin has been so clear and really great and glowing. I suppose it's everyone's own preference but I rely didn't like the foreo. Good luck on choosing- just preference
  • Thank you
After opening the thread, I had a quick look around the internet and Magnitone seems to be getting good reviews too.
I didn't know Clinique demo - I will try. Clinique products normally don't work well with my skin so somehow I didn't think about it!
Clarisonic is nice but above my budget I'm afraid however I will have a look x
  • Qvc do clarisonic brushes and usually on easy pay. If you don't like I think they take things back within 3 months even if it isnt faulty.
  • I will have a look, didnt know that
  • QVC have a 30 day money back guarantee on everything and a 90 day one on a few products, you have to stand the cost of postage to you and to return (if high value item need to pay a little more for the insurance/signed for, otherwise if item gets lost on return you have neither item or refund)
I have the Clarisonic, no problems with it, but have sensitive skin and cannot use it too often, so a waste of money for me really. The replacement brushes are expensive and there are a lot of cheaper fakes out there some of which are scratchy.
Have you tried double cleansing your face each evening using hot cloth method (no facial wipes), this works wonders for lots of us. Several people here are devotees of Caroline Hirons who blogs as beauty mouth, she uses high end products, but is now starting to review more budget price options, her "cheat sheets" are amazing.

  • Thanks I have recently started using Muslin cloth, actually it is very common thing in my country and really cheap. I was a bit amused to see attention around it when I first noticed :P They are not cheap here though !
I will read this blog - thank you
  • I have the magnitone lucid & love it. The brushes are not too expensive & it's helped my skin tone massively
  • I had clarisonic and the boots one and they both worked well at first. After a while I found they made the white bumps under my skin horrendous. I hadn't had many before but using the brushes made them awful.
IMHO, a topical exfoliant is a much better and gentler option. I am using a Paula's Choice one at the moment and it is really good.
  • Actually I am lazy to take care of my skin.all those discussion hep me to care easily
  • Just purchased Magnitone lucid as Boots had it on offer for Ј50 with travel case till 26th. I was saving some Valued opinions vouchers but rather to buy sooner I'm sure I will find a use for other vouchers :P
  • A friend gave me a very fancy one, quite expensive. It caused no end of problems. (mia i think?) and then it died.
ended up getting a Ј14 champneys one from boots.
My word, my skin lost that winter grey tired feel in a couple of days.
  • Mia is Clarisonic yes. I have No7 one, I think it is good as an exfoliator but not so sure about the deep cleansing aspect!
  • I have mild roseaca and have been using the original Clarisonic since 2009, still going strong.
I used it 3-4 times a week, never had a problem.
