A question about : Shell / Egg instant cashback
Odd. Filled up with 45.04 of diesel using Egg Money on 26oct and today I notice an instant cashback credit of 0.90 on my account. That's 2%.
Not mentioned on Egg Money website.

- I've just noticed the same and was on my way to ask the same question.
It's something they did a while ago. Anyone know when the offer is going to end? - HUKD thread has more discussion (not necessarily answers though!) here
https://www.hotukdeals.com/item/26552...n-using-your-/ - Oo - I see you posted this over there
Quote: - So if you don't get a note left, you don't get the cahsback is that right??
where will i look for the note!! - Might be worth others asking Egg via a secure message (log into your account)
- I don't have a note on my account (visible to me, anyhoo) yet I received the cashback. I steered clear of asking Egg just in case this was a computer glitch..... don't want to be walking on eggshells attracting attention.
Stop by Shell. Put 10 quid in. See what happens. (No, I don't work for either party ). Vague, I know..... just reporting my experience. - Incidentally, does anyone know if this applies to all purchases at Shell, or just petrol?
Obviously a 2% discount isn't much to shout about on an overpriced sandwich, but I noticed the other day at ours they are doing giftcards for other stores, such as Next and Debenhams. I presume that you only pay face value for these gift cards. So if you can get, say, a Ј50 Next card for Ј50 in Shell and then get 2% cash back you would have Ј50 to spend in Next for Ј49. - Seeing as Mrs. Cheery's Christmas present includes part payment of her Next bill, I may as well try this out.
- Nice one. Come back and let us know...
- We could all try a novel idea and start asking Egg
- Don't expect to receive this offer if you already regularly buy your petrol at Shell. That's not how these things work!
- I noticed this instant cashback too - wondered what it was all about. I don't see any note on my account, either, though I'm not even sure where I should be looking!
Here's to hoping I'm either 'selected' (as I always use Shell, it gives me more miles per tank than anything else), or they don't notice a mistake and nick it back! - Sent a secure message to Egg asking about this yesterday. Received my reply today:
"I'm not aware of an offer relating to Shell and your Egg Money account.
For further details on what offers are available please copy the address below into your address bar:

Thanks for your message."
To the point if nothing else... - Having had my Hotmail and eBay accounts hacked by a ballpoint pen seller (!!!) last night I am checking all my online accounts and changing passwords.
I checked my Egg card and see that I got 2% Shell cash back on 22 and 30 October for the full amount of the purchases - good eh?
Especially as Shell petrol is currently cheapest in my area
How could it be a promotion if no-one tells me about it though???? - It's on Egg website now:
https://new.egg.com/visitor/0,,3_8719...w_1857,00.html - Stoozing experiment #323549 results.
Cashback of 1.32 credited to Egg Money account today. This works even though offer conditions say otherwise.
Now..... can you positively load a Next (or other) account, and request a refund?
