A question about : shall we have a wedding chat thread?

id like to know how everyones getting on with thier preparations
if theyr going swimmingly or drowning
then we can all gush or lend a hand to try and help
im not getting wed til late september 2012 so im going to be taking everything in in the hope i can organise erm err the errr ah just anything lol

• What a great idea!! Haven't started doing anything yet as not even properly engaged, just we decided that we want to and have started looking at engagement rings... I am awaiting my formal proposal LOL!! I am loving reading everything on this part of the forum as it's already giving me ideas!!

• Grrrr... i have a bridesmaid dress rant!!! ..... Ordered 5 dresses from Debenhams last week while they were in the sale. They were delivered this morning and left in my sisters portch... in the hot sun..... in black plastic bags! Well anyway she got home, and the plastic had melted all down the dresses... big black marks over every single 1!!! GRRRR!!!
  Now Debenhams are saying that as they are no longer in the sale I have to pay full price!! Ummmmm... NO WAY! Their mistake!
  Just about to ring them now, as there is no way I'm paying for their mistake!

Thanks all of the congrats, I have a feeling he's going to propse on our 5 yr anniversary whihc is the 22nd April, we're going to Brighton for the weekend as it houses my favourite thai restaurant and we've never done it just the two of us, always with family or friends, and found a great hotel doing us a deal because it's our anniversary. I'm also starting to think about the wedding date being our anniversary but next year that would be a friday and the following a saturday, both expensive days to get married.... we'll see though!!
• well we decided to get married abroad to avoid all the stress. we booked the holiday, wedding package and honeymoon in sept and virgin still havent got the booking right as yet...so much for no stress were due to be married this september and I havent organised anything yet. Im just starting on getting together the paperwork we will need.
  If you hear of a bomb going off at virgin HO dont worry it was only me and they deserve it rolf (got to laugh and joke or I will cry)
  mrscoles2be - I dont think they can make you pay full price for replacements that the delivery driver spoilt by leaving them in the sun. good luck with getting it all sorted out
• PANICKING - although i dont know why. Everything is booked, i just need to pay for it all now.
  I still have a long list of things to do that i am making myself.
  If i have 1 day where i dont do something to do with the wedding i freak out and think im falling behind.
  I know im just over reacting, but in normal princesswoo fashion i over analise everything and spend way to much time worrying about all the little bits, but then i tell myself its the detail that will pull it all together.
  I have a job interview tommorrow, ive decided that i no longer want to be self employed anymore i want to get out of the house and have a proper routine, plus some extra pennies for the wedding, so i have been stressing about that too.
  I need a holiday with no internet access and no pens, paper, or wedding magazines.
  I think i'll have my honeymoon NOW - thanks.
• Mrscoles, would you be better just saying they didn't turn up? I ordered some trousers once and they didn't turn up so I phoned up after a couple of weeks and they sent replacements out straight away.
  We've just got through our engagement party, we're making our own stationairy but I didn't think about thank you cards!! just wondering if I can get away with notes, my mum is up here on Saturday so said she will take the thank you cards and prezzies back and post them for me but means I have to get them done for saturday and I don't think that's possible. OH has sprained his wrist so can't even delegate
• Thanks for replies everyone . It's ok now. Spoke to someone a bit more helpful this time, and they agreed to let me have them at the sale price!! However, 1 of the sizes i had ordered is no longer in stock!! So I've had to go for the next size up, and will have to have it altered slightly . So, not great but better than i thought!!!!! x
• hi everyone.
  well where do i start, i have been asking the church for 3 weeks what time we are getting married. the normal rev is away so theres 3 stand ins. there appears to be no paper work. i have seen the paper work myself so i know it exists.
  on the good side my dress arrived from china today and its fabulous.
  i still havnt made all the fimo people for the cake.
  on the good side managed to get one of those petal dresses from debenhams for my daughter.
  wedding stress is having the wrong effect on me all i can do is eat. oops.
• I'm having a really stressful time at the moment, so much to do so little time!!! Haven't decided where to get the men's suits from which is a big issue, went to youngs the other week but didn't really like any of the waistcoats. It was so hard to tell with OH trying it on quickly with his jeans and the sales assistant was less than helpful The other problem is we'd have to take the suits back on bank holiday monday even though it's a 2 hour round trip at least and we'll have family visiting so couldn't possibly guarantee that we could get them back. Really can't see what difference it would make if we took them back on the Tuesday! I phoned head office to check with them on Friday, the girl who answered said the girl who deals with it was on the phone so she'd phone back in the next 5 minutes.......still waiting!!! I phoned back myself after 3 hours and got answer machine! Really really need to get it sorted, OH and best men are beginning to panic!!

  maybe retreat to the bath once in awhile, no pens or paper-theyll get soggy/wont write,no mags- theyll get soggy/pages stuck together. no phones-theyll get soggy and electrocute. no laptops/pc's-theyll get soggy and also have a tendancy to electrocute and blow up!

  notes are absolutly fine, why does your mum have to take them? could you post them(2nd class) after youve done them to give you more time to do them? x

It now says they are out of stock though?! Maybe that's because I bought 8 of them. Fingers crossed they can fulfill my order as all the sites I have found were out of stock.
  Booked our DJ today, a friend of ours who DJ's in clubs is doing our night for Ј75. MSE or what?!
• As I previously said, we're not actually engaged yet, but I have been looking at rings and started a thread asking for people's advice. I'm starting to doubt myself though and think maybe just a cheap, but pretty ring would be a better idea as Ј500 fo an engagement ring, although not a huge amount for a diamond, could be used on other things better (paying off debts etc etc etc). • It's hard cos my OH likes quite different styles to me, and won't buy something he doesn't like. Also the money we're using he won't get for a few months I think and I'm getting impatient!!! ARRRGGGHHHH all I seem to do is look at rings!!!
