ive already used the web site that searches for dormant accounts. the reason I need to find out is, a member of family who I have no contact with, but had close contact with my late Dad, might have emptied his accounts without probate or a will.

• But maybe with your fathers agreement or are you trying to establish the date of any withdrawals?
• yes im essentially trying to find out if there has ever been an account with a particular bank, and if so who closed it and when.
• this might all lead to nothing if there is an undisclosed will, but then why not put it through probate if it leaves everything to the stepson?
• that's the problem. trying to find out where they all are.
