Hello RoadKill Rebels,

Welcome to the Challenge for July. The drill is still the same: find as much roadkill as you can between May 1st and 31st.

As HOK3Y said when she launched the first challenge in October 2013, the only stipulation is that it must be found outside of your home and/or car - it has to be money that genuinely wasn't yours or your family's before you found it! So if you find it down the side of the sofa, it doesn't count!

We also collect wombled receipts and discarded lottery scratch-cards to see if we can make some pennies that way too, and we keep track of these earnings separately.

• From what I gather from her thread, I think she is busy preparing her move to the US. That probably leaves little time for roadkill!
• 2 x 1p coins found today whilst out and about at work.
• Found 1p yesterday. So we're off the mark.
• Hubby found 5p yesterday.
  Yesterday, Whilst I was driving home, coming out of the car park, I spotted a penny on the ground. I stopped the car and got out and picked it up. I did get a few odd looks from some passer-bys!!!
  Today, hubby found 2p and I found a penny.
  29p so far this month. : 0 )
• found a $2 coin this morning (about Ј1 in real money)
• I didn't know this thread existed.
  I once had a discussion about this kind of thing with my daughter who scoffed at it and called people silly for doing it. That was until I showed her my pot of 'pennies' that has over Ј5 in it for a years 'work'.
  A penny in your pocket doesn't make any difference but Ј5 will feed my family for 2 evening meals.

• Hubby found 2x2ps and 1x 1p today.
  I found 1 x 5p and a rather dirty 2p today. I also spotted another 5p but couldn't pick it up because the market stall owner was standing right by it. Grrrr!
  So 12p today.

  Something Different
  Found sparkly Roadkill - was in Tescos and spotted a diamond ring on the floor past the check out. Wasn't sure if it was real, but said to hubby - I'm going to hand it in. Customer service was really pleased because this morning someone had rung in - they had lost their engagement ring. They took my number and a little while later the finace rang me to say Thank you and that they would like to send me some flowers. I explained that I was just happy that they had got it back and that don't worry about getting me flowers - put a donation into a charity box.
  It made me feel really good that my Roadkill observation skills had done someone else some good.
