A question about : Reclaiming unfair bank charges
Back in 2003 until about 2006 I was in serious financial trouble, I was going over my overdraft, having bank charges for returned items and I couldn't see the light of day...I had maxed out my credit cards and I was also getting charges on the unpaid items and to top it all I was chased by debt collectors and had numerous defaults.
Right so that's the background, I reclaimed bank charges for the difference between the Ј30 odd pounds I was charged to the approx Ј12 that was a number of years ago though...now I read that if your in financial hardship it wasn't fair to keep having charges on top of charges...I am not in financial hardship now thankfully but I wondered if I could claim for the years where I was, ie 2003-2006 I guess it took longer for me to sort out my debt because I was paying off all those charges
Any advise would be gratefully recieved
Thanks

- Unfortunatley you cannot reclaim bank charges historically.
If you were in financial difficulty at the present time, then yes, probably.
