A question about : Query

Hi,

I have been refused finance three times in the last week. Im applying for 15k over 4yrs. I been self employeed sole trader Taxi driver for almost 4yrs. Two CCards and only one late payment in that time.

Just took a look at my cretit score last night, it reads 767 with checkmyfle.com . Court records are non existant . In the Using Data Seen By Others page Equifax, Experian, and Call Credit are all hight 900's ?

No insolvency record and on the Electoral Register. There are no CIFAS warnings on my credit report.

My credit history with my 3 CCard Companies and Bank since 2013 are all good and in the clear green.

Only red reading is .....Equifax overall score of 658 .

Im being told that the UK average is around 750 and Im 955 with all three....is it possible that this company has my true scores way off the mark or are they a reputable Credit Score website?

Best answers:

  • The people suplying those "scores" do not even lend money so who cares what figure they give you?
Them and you are the only ones who even see them.
Lenders use their own scoring to assign a level of risk. the reference agencies have no idea what system lenders use.
Self employed with no guaranteed income is going to be a high risk.
Missed payments on your file also suggest high risk.
Ј15k is a huge loan for someone with missed payments markers and no guarantee next weeks pay packet will arive.
  • as above, and also what do you earn as a % of the 15K you want to borrow?
If you have been turned down three times in the last week then the chances of you actually getting this loan are now, to put it kindly, greatly reduced. Have the companies not given you a reason why you have been declined?
  • You will probably be on auto-decline now, if you weren't after the second decline so I wouldn't apply for the next 6 months.
Check that all the information is correct on your credit file, you are on the electoral roll and don't miss any more payments, re-apply in 6-12 months.
Forget about the numbers and don't pay for any more scores!
  • As above. There's no such thing as a 'true' credit score.
