Hi All,

This is my first post, so bear with me. I've had Project Solar come to visit me to give me a quote for solar panels.

I was wondering if anyone has had any previous experience with this company? Everything seems on the up and up but I've had my fingers burned in the past.

With the rising energy prices, I feel as though solar panels are a no brainer and I'm future proofing myself.

• Thanks rusty, that's very interesting. I've also been in contact with TP solar, who are much cheaper. Any thoughts on the quality of the solar panels provided?

  Here are the quotes that I have had:
  Project Solar - Evo+10 Black on Black Grade A Mono Panels Ј6578
  T.P Solar - 16 x Sharp panels with a SMA inverter - price including VAT and fitting is Ј4750.
  16 x Canadian Solar panels with a SMA inverter - price including VAT and fitting is Ј5450
  Now, this is where I need the advice. I can obviously see the difference in the quote prices. Is there much difference between the quality of the solar panels as these are a long term investment. If we save the money on the purchase price now, is it going to cost us cash 20-25 years down the line?
• A couple of questions for you -
  1. What inverter are Project Solar offering?
  2. There is not a lot of information on the Evo panels online - who is the manufacturer for them? A lot of panels are manufactured in China and there may not be much difference between them and the Canadian Solar panels.
• I believe that both the Evo and Canadian solar panels are mono and I don't think there should be much difference in their performance.
  I have a SMA inverter and choose that brand because it had a good reputation in the market and a long history. It's a tried and trusted manufacturer.
