  • Went to the Reading one - the food was very good. We both had pasta with cheese and bacon then oven baked. It was so tasty and the service was excellent. Didn't have time to try starters or desserts so would love recommendations
  • We have been to the Barnet one several times. I can recommend the chicken breast with mushrooms and spinach and also the salmon penne. The spaghetti with meatballs and the meat calzone is also good.
No particular bargains but the prices are reasonable, the restaurant is light and airy and the staff are friendly.
  • went to the one at Port Solent. Waiting staff were surly and the pizzas we had were the texture and thickness of a crepe. Wouldn't go back again.

  • Ive been once, for lunch during february half term.
We had starters - baked mushrooms were very nice, bruschetta was very disapointing as its not anywhere as good as pizza expresses, I dont recommend that.
I had penne al pollo zaffferano which was chicken, chilli, spinach, garlic in creamy saffron which was very nice indeed ( not too spicy )
My OH had fusilli al pesto rosso which was asparagus, mushrooms, roasted pepper in red pesto sauce which was also very nice.
    We didnt have puddings.
    Service was very good.
We prefer Pizza Express though as they are much more accomodating to youngsters.
  • They're OK, but Italian restaurants are now everywhere and getting very boring. Pizza, pasta, pizza, pasta, pizza, pasta.
No surprise it's such a popular format with restaurant groups like Prezzo - pasta's very cheap, and so is pizza dough.
Very, very formulaic. Always the same, whichever branch you go to - just like McDonalds. Rather boring after the first 3 or 4 visits.
Prices not bad for dinner - expensive for lunch, though.
  • Food at Prezzo, Christchurch in Dorset is sooooo scrummy! Definately recommend the honeycomb cheesecake - risotto's are tasty too. Looking for discount voucher for this Thurs 26th (i know they had offer on last week) but want to go with hubbie after parents' evening
  • never heard of the place so dont think theres one in my area
  • The amount of food is really quite large so you can easily get away without starters although I'm one of those people that prefers two or three reasonable courses to one massive one. Last time I couldn't even finish just my main. We had two adults meals and one kids meal between our family.
I was telling H that the kids meal didn't look as good value as pizza express
and then the kids pizza came out - it's the same as a full size adults one in pizza express!
The food is pretty simple, the sort of stuff you could easily do at home but pretty good value for a bite out with a 2 for 1 voucher or on the lunchtime menu.
They like deep frying things so watch out! I've had calamari there twice - it's always rubbery and I strongly suspect frozen out of a bag.
  • the only thing to avoid is the Childrens Menu - total rip off, for what they get - much better to buy an adult sized portion (and doggy bag the leftovers lol)
As for the standard menu, ive yet to taste anything bad from there. Pollo Carbonara is huge, and you need an asbestos mouth to eat it. Chicken with mushrooms is very garlicky and has lots of mushrooms. The fries are gorgeous, as are the gratin potatoes. Out of all the similar restaurants, ie Zizzi, Ask and Pizza Express, i think Presso has the most varied menu, and their current off of BOGOF on main meals sunday-friday is a cracking saving

  • Extracted from the Guardian earlier this month:
Pizza Hut with pretensions. Trash food for the professional classes (to judge by the diners filling the tables and waiting patiently by the bar). A disgrace to the nobility of pizza. Evening Special: Pizza Agrodolce. Special it was. Specially disgusting - ill-conceived, badly made, with a specially floppy, spongy base hardly touched by heat. The topping was especially dolce - sweet - but of the promised agro - sour - there was no trace. It was a thick, heavy, tasteless poultice of creamy cheese, tasteless tomatoes, characterless onions and God knows what else. It was impossible to see clearly in the stygian gloom. Certainly taste was no guide. The evening was saved by a) good espresso, which I poured over passable vanilla ice-cream; and b) a bottle of fine Morellino di Scansano. The service was a curious mixture of the surly, the charmless and the over-attentive. One for the collector.
Don't think he liked it much.
  • I would recommend prezzos really nice food!
I have been to the one in yeovil and have tried the pasta with mushrooms, the half pizza folded over with pepperoni and the last meal i had there was for lunch and that was a chicken, pancetta bacon and avocado salad which was gorgeous
    Def recommend it!
  • Prezzo in Port Solent is probably my favourite local restaurant. Consistently good quality and good value - made even better by the '2 for 1' offers! Can't understand the negative comment about the staff on this webite - I've always found them polite.
  • i went to prezzo (cockfosters) for the first time yesterday. have to say as per doozer's post, the portions are large! i was starving when i arrived and wondered whether to get myelf starters, but inthe end i thankfully saw sense (and saw i didn't have enough money!) and bought just mains - chicken in a creamy sauce with mushrooms & leeks with fries. i finished it but trust me it was struggle! food was really tasty and good value for money.
  • Can't possibly recommend Prezzo. First visit in Barnstaple with a group the orders were hopelessly mixed up and they didn't really care, the 2nd visit in Exeter was worse still - cold food and tinfoil in the fishcakes. Again, they just didn't care if we had a bad experience.
  • It says Sun - Fri on the moneysavingexpert website but then Sun - Thur on the prezzo website.
Which is the correct one please?
  • Oxford St in Southampton and Romsey are very good and have been several times.
I love Pane con Cipolla (caramalised onions) and Pollo al Funghi (mushrooms and spinach) and even better with the 2 for 1 vouchers.
  • Have just got back from Prezzo in Amersham, it was fairly busy for a Tue evening however the service was outstanding!
We had garlic bread with cheese and king prawns in a sauce for starters.
Meatball penne dish and a chicken penne dish for mains.
Sticky toffee pudd and Banana and toffee cheesecake for dessert.
Also had a bottle of their house white wine and I really liked it - approx Ј12.75
The meal was superb, very tasty - the waitress worked so hard and was excellent despite it being busy, we were never left waiting - she always popped by to check we were okay.
We are so impressed, we'll definately go back. Only been to the Reading one before and was a little worried as they can vary depending on management/staff but honestly can't praise enough!
Only thing was I was full by the time dessert came so didn't appreciate it, this could also be due to the lovely warm weather as well as the generous portions
I think that the quality and portions are much superior/bigger than Pizza Express and Zizzi
