A question about : PPI from 1987 onwards
Can anyone advise, please, if I can put a PPI claim in against a company loan for a sole trader that was taken out in 1987? I was told by the bank involved that I had to take PPI, but also had to have a guarantor for the loan.
Best answers:
- 1987 means that FOS MAY have jurisdiction. However, PPI did not exist in its current form then.
Furthermore, banks had stricter rules in those days.
In addition, if a guarantor was required, they would have been fully liable if you had defaulted so there seems to have been a need for some kind of cover.
