A question about : P.O. Credit card

I notice that there only seem to be 2 cards left that don't charge BT fees - Barclays and the Post Office card. The first is out of the question for me because I can't get to a branch (in Scotland). I could apply for the PO card now but it would fit in better with my stoozing rollover (and my credit score) to do it in a few months time. I'm worried now, though, that the offer may not be around then (no sign on the site of when it might end) and there will be no other fee free BT cards. I'd rather get it now than miss out altogether.

Does anybody know how long the offer has been going or have any idea about how long it maight continue?

Thanks,

Justin

  • Barclaycard with 'no fee'? AFAIK they now charge 2.5% with no cap.
As to the P.O. as it is a new product from a new provider I imagine they will want to build customers - and that suggests they will keep the 6 month offer fee-free notwithstanding what other card issuers are doing. Remember too that there are still a few card issuers which don't carry BT fees at all (although they don't do 0% BTs mostly.)

Barclays by visiting the branch only apparently. Not seen this week's e-mail?
  • Applied for a PO office card last week and did a fee free balance transfer. The card is quite new to the market so they obviously want to get reach their targeted number of new customers. But then again if they suddenly realise they are the only card left without charging fees they will probably start sharpish. I would therefore recommend applying now to be sure. You can apply on the internet and it gives you a decision and credit limit confirmation at the end of the application
  • https://www.stoozing.com/0fees.htm
table gives list of 0% cards. First list are fee free cards.
  • Strangely enough, the list on the stoozing website includes no 9 month fee-free cards, which the Great Ormond Street card clearly is.
However, the fact that it's been removed from the list of cards available on the charitycard.co.uk website suggests that it's not going to be around for much longer perhaps?
  • I picked up a credit card leaflet in the post office today. The eyes of the lady behind the counter lit up when she saw it, and she asked was I thinking of applying?
I said I was going to look into it, but I'd heard they were hard to get accepted for. She looked a bit blank and consulted her manager.
She turned back to me. 'One out of three' she said. 'One out of three what?' 'One out of three applications are accepted'
    Too chancy for me!
  • Go via Quidco.com and get £13 for each accepted credit card application.
  • Would I be able to get a BT from the post office card onto a visa debit which is linked to my offset please?
  • The Harley Davidson charity card seems to be still available

  • halloweenqueen - I would assume you couldn't transfer to a VISA debit card, but I don't know for sure.
