A question about : Please post vote for me posts here

Hi everyone

Martin's decided he's happy for people to post asking others to vote for them or their baby/brother/sister etc. As they're not always strictly MoneySaving though we'd like to keep them all together so if you could post them in this thread that would be great.

If any are posted elsewhere on the forum then the Board Guides will move them and merge them into this thread.

Thanks for your help everyone

  • Dear all, A while back this comp was posted and I entered my lovely man. I didn't tell him and thought nothing of it until I received an email saying he was a finalist and could they please have a cheesy photo of the two of us.
So I 'm just posting to say please, please would you consider voting for him, he is truly lovely and really deserves the title. He is in the most heroic husband of the year competition and he is .......
    Mal Clarke.
Thanks so much for reading my post, Thank you to whoever posted the competition originally (I can't find the original post) and huge apologies if this is in the wrong place. It probably is as I seem to be hopeless at posting messages.
The page for voting is here www.evemagazine.co.uk/husbands/, you just click on shortlist then scroll down to the Heroic shortlist.
    Thank you !!

    Hi All,
Firstly, I apologise if this is not allowed on this forum. I tried to check the rules, and other than referrers - which this isn't I couldn't find anything of help. - Please let me know if I am wrong and I'll delete this.
Can you spare a moment to vote for a small charity?
The Werewolves of London is a disabled and special needs ice hockey program, the only one like it in the country.
We've been nominated for a £2k award from National Lottery and to be in with a chance of winning, we need to get people to vote.
To vote, please click here, then click on the 'iVillage best in health category'
The Werewolves are almost at the bottom of the webpage, so scroll down, click 'read more' then at the bottom of that page click 'vote'
    Many thanks
My interest in this is that I have 2 children in this project, and I am also the Chair.
For more information on the team, please see the following link here
If you know of someone who would benefit from the programme, please use the links on the Werewolves website (sorry I don't check my PM very often!)
    Thanks in advance

  • All,
I've only just seen this and didn't realise I could ask you very kind moneysavers to vote for my lovely husband in the 'Eve Magazine - Husband of the Year' competition.
I'd be really grateful if you would vote for No. 14 Chris Laws in the 'most heroric' category by tomorrow (Fri 27th June)! Before you do, please read our story below....
    The link is at:
    https://www.evemagazine.co.uk/husbands/
...there is the chance to win Ј100 of Nivea goodies for everyone who enters!
The write-up in the magazine didn't really do Chris justice. We've only been married just over a year and when we met 4 years ago, I was fit, active and we both loved the outdoors. Unfortunately, 18 months after we met, I fell ill with a debilitating and very rare auto-immune disease called Vasculitis. In my case, the symptoms were very similar to severe Crohns Disease. Since my diagnosis, I have undergone 6 major operations and in 2006 I had to have my colon removed. I now wear a permanent ileostomy bag.
Chris has been amazing throughout my illness and without him I truly don't know how I would have coped with such life-changing and ultimately disfiguring surgery. Many man would have turned tail and fled at the thought of a stoma bag, but instead Chris proposed to me and we married in April 2007. He has accepted it as part of me and makes me feel beautiful despite my scars.
Not only has Chris taken on a new and demanding job in the last two years, but he has been there for me throughout each gruelling hospital stay and subsequent treatment. He's held my hand night after night whist I was in intensive care and Doctors thought I wouldn't make it; he's ferried me to countless outpatient appointments and comforted me when I lost my hair and was sick during chemotherapy (treatment for my illness being still largely experimental); he's organised an army of friends and family to visit me in hospital and to look after me afterwards, often at short notice as I required emergency surgery and there was little warning!
On top of that, Chris ran the Cardiff Half Marathon last October to raise money for Vasculitis research. He's also been my emotional rock. Things have been very tough for my family - my father has advanced Parkinson's Disease and my mother was disagnosed with Ovarian Cancer last year.
We're hoping to try for a family next year using IVF, as unfortunately my fertility has been severely imparied by the illness and aggressive treatments. Chris has never once complained - even though he's always wanted kids, I know he'll stick with me even if we are unable to have a family of our own. I would love more than anything to be able to give him something back.
I had my last surgery only 3 weeks ago (hopefully the last for a while) and things were touch and go for a while, as I suffered serious complications. I am now recuperating slowly at Chris's parents house, however we have just moved into a new home and Chris has arranged everything. I can't wait to move in there next week when I am well enough!
All I can add is that I think Chris really, really deserves this - so many men are so shallow when it comes to looks and emotions these days - Chris is one in a million and I feel so lucky to have married him! If you agree with me, please, please vote for him!
    Thanks for you support
