  • After a couple of really poor visits to the Slough branch when I was there for meetings I've been put of Pizza Expresss. The service was terrible and the food was burnt. Also the pasta's look unappetising and seem to be just heated up and are served in horrid black plastic like you'd have if you oven cooked something at home! The place wasn't busy and was just poorly managed and run.
Went to the one in Trafford Centre a few weeks back and the place was packed, the service excellent and the food perfectly cooked. Staff really nice..
I really recommend the Etna pizza (it's spicy!!) and the Apple pie & icecream and I wish they'd bring back the Tortufo choc icecream pudding they used to have!!
I do like Pizza Express but find the service in Zizzi's, Ask, Strada, etc seems to be so much better - we enjoy our meal out more, there is a better atmosphere and don't have to wait for ages for a bill..
  • The Padana is my fave Pizza Express pizza (Rich goat's cheese, spinach and red onion with tangy caramelised onion confit and a drizzle of garlic oil). It's lush!
I go to the Ramsgate branch with lovely tables overlooking the harbour - only go when there's a 241 offer though. The service has been wonderful and it's very child-friendly.
  • Very expensive, not alot of choice toppings, been once with tesco clubcard deals never go back again!!!!!
  • Is there any discounts for Gourmet Pizza express
thank you need by saturday am
  • Hi folks
Just went to the Farnham branch with a 2 - 4 - 1 voucher. First time using a voucher for a meal anywhere - waitress ok with it! Nice meal and good service, had this lovely Fredo thing for dessert - an icecream with nougat and nuts and a tiny expresso.
Not been here since last autumn, but despite the credit crunch was packed early evening.
    Ciao
    Sally M
  • Can the 2 for one be used at Gourmet pizza express????????
  • I've always had a good service in Pizza Express. I've eaten at Strand,London also in Bluewater,Slough,Windsor,Brighton,Ashford,Maidston e,Tunbridge Wells and Canterbury. I've had takeaway from Kingston Upon Thames and my partner had takeaway from 1 quite close to Victoria,London. Always very good, most of the time I've been in one,I've had my children with me and always been child friendly.
We always order the children the childrens menu, and my daughter as my son's dessert as he's not keen on icecream so she has 2 desserts. So in that respect we like a bit of different choice for dessert for children other than icecream.
My eldest is nearly 9 and he does find the childrens menu a bit on small side so I always order an extra starter as well as our starters as he really likes the dough balls. We always order dough balls and garlic bread,my partner orders a side salad,he really likes their house dressing. You can buy that in the supermarkets, their other range in supermarkets is not too good, specially when been spoilt by eating in there!
We always order margherita ( can't spell ) pizza with red pepper added. I've tried most of the desserts but personally prefer the toffee fudge sundae.
Will be eating next in the 1 in Greenwich at o2 when I take my son to see Star Wars Musical, got my Clubcard voucher Ј5 turned into Ј20 deals, come in post other day Probably have a couple quid to put to it maybe, plus you can't exchange vouchers for drinks eithers.
We vegetarian and find their choices very good for us veggies, their pizza bases are Vegan too ( check site to doublecheck any changes ) so they cater fairly well actually I think.
  • another one here for the padana- my mouth is watering thinking about it. i also love the polo salad and dough balls- when i get my clubcard vouchers through it ALWAYS goes on pizza express vouchers yummmmmy
shame these none up here in n wales
  • Pizza Express in Worcester is great........... and always busy!
It has a spectacular view of Worcester Cathedral and is a really good night out with the girls.
It is also amazingly baby and child friendly in the day. Service is ok (not perfect) but the 241 vouchers can make it a really cheap night out.
I always go for the nostrana salad and cheekily mix chocolate and vanilla ice cream for my pud!
Highly recommended by me..... for what it is worth!
  • Leeds (Park Square) branch always gives good service.
Our favourite is Caprina, it's no longer on the menu, but the staff are always happy to put one together (goats cheese and sun blushed tomatoes). New menu comes out at end April nationally (already on trial in parts of London) and will include 3 Weight Watchers pizzas.
  • I tasted the new range of Pizza Express pizzas yesterday - they are being launched nationally towards the end of April but available in a few locations now (Teddington being one not sure of others)
The range is all around 500 calories - they have cut a hole in the centre of the pizza and put a load of salad in there. They are fab (cant remember all the types - but there was one with ham and mushroom that was yummy - just hope there will be some good 2 for 1 offers around when it is more available. )
It is not on their website yet but there have been various articles in the press - so for anyone who is calorie concious it will make Pizza express more doable.
  • ETNA on the new romana base is my favourite too !
  • Teesside Park one is good, great food and great staff always busy when i have been
  • WeightWatchers teams up with Pizza Express
Each pizza 7.5 points. Available in restaurants End April 2009
The Gustosa: Italian for 'tasty', it combines hand-torn prosciutto cotto ham with slices of Portobello mushroom, sweet yellow pepper, light Fior di Latte mozzarella and fresh thyme. A meaty pizza that's still light.
The Margherita Leggera: This is a lighter version of the classic pizza with light Fior di Latte mozzarella, santos tomatoes and fresh basil
The Vitabella: Meaning 'good life', this has asparagus spears, mixed chargrilled vegetables and red and yellow peppers on a base of tomato sauce and light mozzarella. Super healthy and counts as one of your five a day.
  • OH and I like Pizza Express, mainly as the 3 we have visited have been really child friendly. They all gave out activities for our 2 year old son to amuse himself with while we waited for the food.
The staff were attentive and obviously comfortable around children.
I cant remember exact dishes we have had except for the bruschetta pesto starter which is really lovely.
The childrens menu is good, and we loved the bambinochino that came with it ( a mock cappuchino but basically frothy milk sprinkled with chocolate!
  • I generally avoid these restaurant chains as the service can be crap and the food not much better. Not so Pizza Express. Of all the chains, Pizza Express is by far the best in my view. We have three in Belfast and both offer great food and great service. Went recently with the 2 for 1 voucher and would highly recommend them.
  • I like pizza express. Ive been told if you take a kid / baby you get a free starter
