A question about : Pip breast implant

Does anyone know of any solicitors still taking claims for those who have suffered due to pip implants?

Best answers:

  • Any idea where I can get help?
    Have called over 20 solicitors
  • If you google 'pip implant solicitors uk' there are quite a few companies that come up who deal with this. Maybe you could ring one of those? Or you could try looking for one that specialises in medical negligence claims. Even some of the companies advertising on TV as no win no fee, might be able to point you in the right direction at least.
  • I think that part of the problem is that these implants were given a CE mark.
That means that surgeons fitting them were not to blame. They were perfectly legal, certified implants.
So - that leaves solicitors with only the EU regulators to go after (Who said they were 'safe') Or the crooks who made them with non-medical silicone - and have since gone bust.
This means that a solicitor will either have to sue a broke crook, or the mighty bureaucracy that is the EU commission.
One has no money - the other would string it out for years. Nowhere near as simple as suing a nicely insured surgeon.
Despite what the ads tell you about solicitors being passionate about justice for the unfortunate - the reality is very different if it doesn't look like there is any money in it for them, or even that they might have to do a bit of work for it.
Why would any solicitor want to get bogged down with this when there are nice easy negligence claims against nice easy NHS indemnified surgeons who tend to pay up at the drop of a hat?
Have a look at this report.

After 2 years of wrangling - an award of just short of Ј2500 was agreed for a few of those involved. The lawyers cut of that is hardly going to pay for the kids school fees!
