The thread is extremely supportive and friendly, with lots of madness and smileys to boot! It is ever increasing, which is why part 6 has now been started.

The principle of the idea is that you pay any extra money you have against a debt to clear it a little bit quicker. Not everyone makes a daily payment, but instead they save money to make a lump sum at the end of the month. You can do it anyway you want to, but join the thread and let us know how you are getting on.

Some PaD-ers have cleared their debts and are now focusing on saving following the same principal, so they still post on the thread.

Anyone is welcome to join in at anytime.

• Hi can I join as well please. I've been doing an unofficial PAD but I think by declaring it I may even do it every day.

• When I first hinted last summer at doing half a million in a year, I didn't think it was actually possible. Now that new members are joining weekly, maybe, just maybe it can happen. I'm afraid that I am on minimum payment plus just a tiny bit - though those minimum payments do feel fairly substantial.
  Anyway, I'm not much help today with my 1p but some days it's more about keeping in the habit of paying rather than the actual amount.

  Need to go and check the bank now to see what i can pay today.

• Hello everybody today, oooh a new month! My pad Ј1.00 today, I just wanted to say that even though I am saving:rolleyes: in my pad, I do have debts of approx Ј4k, but last year I was doing my pad and it was going towards paying off a credit card (I already have a standing order taking money out to 3 debts every month), but the cc I was adding the pad to kept ringing me up and asking for more money!! So I have decided not to pay extra on my debts, but to try and save instead - maybe a new tv or as an emergency fund. At least this way I don't have people constantly ringing me and asking for more money. (Most of my debts are interest free, but I do still have a credit card that I use......................old habits die hard)
