*The principles of PADding*
Emily Hallett started a fantastic thread called 'a payment a day' which you can find here:

The thread was a huge success and was continued in 'A Payment a Day Parts 2-9'. Those threads can be found here:

The thread is extremely supportive and friendly, with lots of madness and smileys to boot! It is ever increasing, which is why part 10 has now been started.
The principle of the idea is that you pay any extra money you have against a debt to clear it a little bit quicker. Not everyone makes a daily payment, but instead they save money to make a lump sum at the end of the month. You can do it anyway you want to, but join the thread and let us know how you are getting on.
Some PaD-ers have cleared their debts and are now focusing on saving following the same principal, so they still post on the thread. Anyone is welcome to join in at anytime.

Anyway, the new years eve PADs came to a very good

A very nice way to finish off the year I reckon.
The December total came to
Ј30,452.32
I reckon that's a great effort for a December - nearly Ј1k a day.
So, if I add that to the total up till November 30th 2010, that makes a whopping total for the year of
Ј531,246.91
Great effort. Dare we try for a million next year?

I'm just popping in to post a quick PAD for today of Ј208.
Just getting ready to make the trip 'oop north' to visit more family but we went to Asda this morning to get one of the Ј99 wii's so guess who's left doing all the tidying up and packing while somebody plays with his new toy...
Fantastic total for last year - we need to go onwards and upwards now - million is a bit ambitious but 600k might be do-able?

Had a look at the figures this morning and decided to PAD Ј200 to tescocc, Ј80 to OH's evilegg and the 50p in my purse into the gold jar (see being flexible again)

I thnk we should aim for 3/4 of a million in 2011
Checked my bank accounts this morning and I've been charged Ј20 and Ј23.66 interest! plus my loan has gone out and a few of my dd's - so money quite tight til next payday - great start to the year!!!
My debt total has now gone under Ј12k - thanks to my loan coming out
Pad today is Ј1.34 ISA and Ј2 cap1 pls
Ј3.34 - Happy New Year folks! - I'm just glad I found this thread and what a great idea, only been PADding for about 15 days now and might only be Ј1 a day or so but I guess it's better than nothing to get debt-free quicker..
