Hi All

I have 2 loans and 2 credit cards left to pay. Yes, that means it was once worse! You can see from my signature that I still owe a lot. I'm so focused on paying off my debt and I already have a diary however I wanted to have a 2015 goal diary.

My goal is to pay off my large credit card in 2015. The balance on it today is Ј8514.94. The problem comes in that I will have to continue to pay my loans and other CC off whilst achieving this so it's a huge task.

I will be doing this regardless, however if anyone has a goal they would like to achieve or a debt they would like to see gone that will take the whole of 2015 to do, then feel free to join me.

  This could be quite difficult as we are living quite close to the bone right now so there are not a lot of extra pennies to throw at the CC but i am determind!

  Good idea for this thread.
  We had 20k's worth of debt December 2013, so this year we managed to pay of 10k.
  We have 10k left to pay off during 2015.
  So my challenge is "Pay 10k in 2015".
  Would love to get this done by my 40th Birthday in July 2015, but it will take ALOT of determined budgeting and extra work to get debt free by next summer.
  Going to be a year of hard work, so need lots of these threads to keep my motivation.

  Its on 0% for 34 months (30 or 31 left) so the min payment is around Ј86 (Ј1032 min for the year) that leaves Ј2720 to find

  I know the feeling. My target is very tight and may not be doable. I know that sounds like I am setting myself up for a downfall but I have been doing this for a few years and know what works and doesn't for me so I'm happy with my decision. The harder the challenge, the more focussed I become.
  For me, I've taken on a 2nd job and will look to see what I can sell on ebay though for the small, private seller that seems daunting given their charges now.

• I was looking at getting a second job but with an 18month old and already working 37.5 hours a week i just cant.
  We are thinking of looking for a smaller place to rent when our lease is up in June so that would give us some extra ЈЈЈ to put towards debt. And then once the debt is paid we can start to save properly for a deposit.
  I have just taken on a fixed term contract til 31st May 2015 which pays about Ј2000 more a year than my previous job and i am now looking internally at any jobs that i think i could go for and there is one that i think i might apply for that will bump up my salary by another Ј3000! (if i am successful).
  I think thats going to be my plan - downsize house and try for a better paid permenant job. With the downsizing i will need to de clutter so i my use FB selling pages and if i cant get stuff sold then they will be going to charity or freecycle.
  Sorry this rambled on a bit but having somewhere to write this stuff down should help me feel more in control and help to focus....and if i need a good kick to get in gear plase feel free
• Love your posts Highland Lass you sound very similar to me and I like to get my thoughts out on paper too. Makes them easier to process.
  We are also similar in the sense, once I am DF we will be looking for the next place which is my whole drive to become DF.

• Mine is pay half my debt/ goal. I am being realistic that I will not achieve paying my Ј4,555 loan off next year (I wish!) so if I half that Ј2550 next year more attainable... I think lol Means from January paying 212.50 a month... yikes lol. Well my monthly is Ј98.54 and well see how it goes x
• Hiya - it's best to be realistic - you know you so only you know what you can do and Ј2550 is a cracking amount to achieve
• Pay day today so have made a little dent in the credit card debts. I will pay more towards them but need to work out a proper budget for the month first to see what I can afford. My plan is basically, pay minimum payments for both from my pay every month. Any earnings I make online doing surveys etc will go straight to the smaller card and anything else I can spare from my pay through the month will go to the bigger card. I want the smaller card paid off first. Doesn't make the most sense interest-wise but I know I will feel so much better when I get one of them paid off fully and the smaller one will be easier to do.
• Hi DF2012 please add me to your list. I have a card that has 0% until Jan 2016 so I would llike to get rid of as much of that as I possibly can. It' s at Ј5768.65 just now. It is a big ask but I want to really go for it. Thanks x
• Well, I've already changed my plan. Hahah. I've been thinking and I really should deal with the highest interest rate first, which at the moment is actually the overdraft. Although the 0% offer on my Lloyds card (the Ј500 one) will end in April or May I think and then that will be charging more interest than the overdraft. So my new plan is to only make minimum payments to the cards, and keep all other money in the bank to keep the interest on the overdraft down. And then when the Lloyds card starts charging interest I will pay off whatever I can from what I've built up in the bank. Then as soon as that's completely paid off I will get back to work on the overdraft. Make sense? Hahaha. I will get this sorted. Really I will.

  Ideally would love to clear my debt 6k by xmas more realistic try Ј4200 pushing myself but determined. Have managed nearly 4k this year but think my cc going to be used this month unforeseen circumstances.

  Going to aim for paying off/saving Ј20k in 2015. A lot of money, I know, but should be doable if we really, really focus and knuckle down. Once our CC is paid off we will be spreading our monthly payments between our remaining loan, and a mortgage offset account- for the purposes of this challenge I'll count the offset payments.
  I'm SO looking forward to 2015, have a good feeling about it! Lovely fresh clean slate! Roll on January!
