A question about : Painting chips in wood doors, borders

Hello,

In my house I have wood doors and borders (the things that are at the bottom of the walls and go all the way around?) and the bath tub is the same type of wood. I believe it is oak, it looks like it from the photo's I've looked up, it's sort of dark reddish, mahogany? Anyway, there are chips as you would expect in various places, do I paint over these? I'm not a big DIY guy and would just like to disguise the chips, as it will look better. Thanks very much title=Smile

Best answers:

  • Do you mean the skirting boards?
You'd be best off using some wood filler before painting
  • Yes, skirting boards
Yes, same colour. There are just chips, and the paint has come off quite a bit in places on the bath tub, so I want to just touch it up so to speak. I just know zero about DIY so wasn't sure if this is something people do?
  • You could disguise the chips with a permanent coloured marker pen.
  • That would work, Squiggles? It wouldn't look rubbish? Or is painting it better?
  • ten characters
  • Nobody can advise me then?
