Hi everyone...any more out there apart from little old me??

Went and viewed 3 venues at the weekend, came away and thought about it/costed up...and booked our venue and registrar on Monday - eek!! can officially start to get excited now Have a bit of a challenge on my hands in that I'm planning this wedding from a distance - getting married in my hometown in North Wales...but I now live in West Yorkshire (about 2 hour journey) so can't exactly pop round to sort things out. Luckily my mum and dad are quite good at these things so that will be really helpful.

  i've provisionally booked them - can't actually go and give notice until 12 months before...already put the 20 Oct 2011 in my diary to make the appointment! lol
  Whereabouts are you based/getting married then? have you booked anything yet? i've only got as far as the venue....next on the list: Insurance!

  Weve booked our venue and have a planning meeting on 3rd April
  Were getting married in a hotel call the The Place in Manchester City Centre
• I just rang the registry office in the district where I'm getting married and asked them their availability on the 20 Oct 2012. She said they were free and if I paid a deposit then the date and time would be secured. She then told me about having to wait until 20 Oct this year to give notice, but we have to give that in the district where we live. Then once she had confirmation of that she would send out the "getting married" pack.

• How much was the deposit you had to pay? I know the full figure for the registra on the day for us is about Ј350.

• I think the fee varies in different areas - total for our wedding is Ј235 - I paid Ј100 deposit, and will have Ј135 left to pay on the day (or couple of days before whichever it is) plus the cost of the wedding certificate (Ј3.50). We will also have to pay Ј67 to give notice (that's for the 2 of us) - I think the giving notice price is set though no matter where you live.
  Maybe give them a ring and see if they are free to do your date...wouldn't want you to be disappointed. x

• Hi all... I'm also a October 2012 bride to be ... Saturday 6th October 2012. Have sorted church, reception venue, photographer and insurance but living abroad until July so the rest will have to wait until I get back. I'll be the same as Nic Noc Noo, getting married in my hometown in the southeast and going to be living in Liverpool!

  My mums pretty easy going tbh i think she'd be disappointed but not mad.
  We booked a magician yesterday. We'll have him from 3pm til midnight for Ј295. He's ace!
  Next on our list is to book a band, string trio and the photographer and ill start looking at dressess again.
