Thought I'd post this seperate to the other thread as it may get lost in there for people who might want this deal but not the other!

I've previously ordered their 6 month deal and have been happy as have other MSE'ers, the owner is very helpful if you have any queries and want to ring him to clarify anything.

Retro Sweet Hamper
This Hamper will be full to the top of all our old classics which we all use to run down to the corner shop for.This is a must for any sweet lover.

• That looks grand! I've just emailed them to ask roughly how many sweets come in the sweetie hamper, but I'll probably order anyway.
  Edit: Emailed them (at half 10 at night too!) and he emailed back in minutes saying that the retro hamper is similar to the classic retro hamper.
  I'll give it a go, they look like cute gifts
• I've got one of the retro sweet hampers as part of another deal, and I'm trying to think what is in it. It's at my mum's so I can't just have a look, but this is what I can remember:
  bag of cola cubes
  bag of jelly babies
  bag of shrimps
  bag of fried eggs
  bag of jelly snakes
  These are all loose sweets weighed out into clear plastic bags.
  The hamper also contains:
  Haribo mix bag
  2 sherbert lollies
  2 Chupa lollies
  2 Refresher lollies
  4 sherbert straws
  large tube of Parma Violets
  4 Refreshers
  2 Black Jacks
  2 Fruit salads
  Shertbert Dibdab
  4 small tubes swizzles
  Long chewy bar, but I can't remember what kind. I think it's orange though
  2 mini rolls of Love Hearts
  small pack of rainbow drops
  There might be a couple of other items, but I really can't remember.
  The hamper, if it is the same as in the deal I bought, is about 12" long, 5" wide and 3" deep (I'm estimating the sizes and I'm not brilliant at this, so apologies if I'm a bit far out on guessing the size). It is wicker, with a lid that fastens with straps and buckles. There is a handle on the lid. The handle and straps are leather type material. The hamper is lined with green tissue paper and filled with the sweets. There isn't any additional packing inside the hamper, as it is already full with the sweets.
  I've found Neil to be very helpful when I've had a query.
• These are such bad value. Even at Bogof. You can buy bags and bags and bags of all those sweets for a few quid at pound shops. Then a cheap hamper and you are away with 10x the amount.
• How much is a cheap hamper? I was wondering if it can be done for cheaper, and it probably can (and with the exception of cola cubes they are all sweets that can be bought anywhere anyhow - I have most of them in the bags I've bought for trick or treaters), but are the hampers nicely presented, sealed with a company logo? If so it may be worth paying the extra for that, depending on what the recipients of your gifts are like. Some people sneer at home-made hampers
• My sweets hamper was part of another deal, and worked out at Ј5.93, so well worth the price, especially as the hamper itself is lovely.
• Of course it's cheaper to do it yourself, as it would be with any hamper. The guy is providing a service for those who would rather buy the hamper ready made. I think people need to remember that the company needs to also make some money back on what they sell so obviously the price is going to be more than what you would pay to make it yourself. Personally I don't have much time or inclination to buy baskets, packaging and presents and make it look all nice. I prefer to pay for it to be done for me. And this company is fantastic at what they do and I've seen comments from very happy people at what was in the hampers and the presentation.
• I've taken the plunge today and ordered the other offer for the 6 hampers. There will be 2 of the galaxy hampers in there. I'm still deciding about this offer though - the website doesn't say the weight of the sweetie hamper or give any clue as to the contents.
• Last year I ordered my husband a retro sweet hamper from John Lewis. I thought it would be excellent, as it cost me Ј30. I couldn't believe it when it arrived. The hamper itself was really small & flimsy & contained about Ј5 worth of sweets. I was so gutted.
  My Norfolk Hampers are a million times better. Very impressed. Still can't believe John Lewis, such a con :-(

• The baskets were 3 for Ј4.99 in Home Bargains, and the sweets/chocs can be found cheap in there so for me the choc/sweet isn't a good offer at all. I can do all 4 for about Ј20 at the most. I know hamper companies are doing a service & I have ordered before when the price is right but the cost of these is just too much.
