A question about : Injury claim effect on benifits?
Hi
It looks like a 3 year long injury claim is finally coming to and end, i have a small concern regarding benefit payments. I have read that you may have to pay back some money from your payout towards your benefits if the accident resulted in your claiming the benefits, I was already claiming DLA and ESA prior to and at the time of the accident. will i still have to pay some back?
Best answers:
- Best place to ask is the DWP
- Any ESA (not DLA) payable directly due to the accident will in principle come off a compensation claim.
If there is no connection between the accident and your claim - and it did not elongate how long you've been claiming - none should be recovered.
