A question about : SSP and Holidays
I'm wondering if any of you could help me?
I've been off work for a week due to a personal situation and have put a Self-Certificate Sick Note in at work.
This week I'm on holiday.
Going to the Doctors after my holiday to get a proper Sick Note.
What are my rights regarding holiday pay for this week? - will I get any, or will it be Sick Pay again?
Best answers:
- If you have been sick throughout the period and provide medical evidence to prove this, your employer should treat you as sick and pay you sick pay. If you don't get a sick note, they presumably would have to treat you as on holiday and pay holiday pay.
I take it you would prefer the holiday pay, as, if you claimed SSP, you could keep your weeks holiday for another time. - thank you!!!!!
