A question about : No more utility bills.?

Hello all - this is my first post to the forums - I have been lurking here for a good long time and I've finally found a worthy question to ask!

I've been looking for a total replacement for my heating / hot water in my two bed house... I've come across this site... https://greentecsystems.co.uk/

Has anyone seen anthing similar or had experience with this company - they claim for a two bed house - installation of their system will cost approx Ј7500, and with an additional wind/solar power system to power it all my heating bills could be cut completely.

I would appreciate any advice from hardened money savers!

Cheers

  • The web site is certainly interesting and well constructed but personally I'm always wary of claims like-
"Add a form of renwable energy to the Greentec system like a mini wind turbine or solar PV panels and the heating, hot water and cooling can run for free!!!"
  • Near where I live there are some houses that run on te same kind of system.
They have solar panels in the roof that collect and store light and this is what the house runs off when the sun goes down.
However in winter when there is not enough light to store during the day when the solar runs out of light energy it automatically switches to the electric metre.
Very good in mo and I wish I had it.
  • only contact is a phone number or via email, why no address on the site ??
  • Be careful, Jason.....the small print on one such scheme ( mentioned on downsizer.com) says the power has to be first sold to and then bought back from the generating company.Possible scam, tho seemingly approved by the government.
  • Thanks all for the input...!
Apparently this is a small upstart company (I got the web address details from a local paper) so there isn't much detail available to me... I do know they are based in hilllingdon however.
I'll probably wait for a year or so to see if this sort of company takes off, but I just loved the thought of no more heating bills (or a nice big heated swimming pool in my attic!!)
