A question about : "NEXT" credit blunder

Hi.
Last October my wife received a CCJ from Next on-line, relating to 120.00 of purchases that were paid on time (on line) in April! During this period her bank details were faxed and posted on at least ten separate occasions only to be told they could not find the cash. A defence was even sent to the court but to no avail.
In December they eventualy found the money and offered 100.00 compensation together with the withdrawal of the CCJ. Unfortunately this has cost hours and hours of time to sort together with the stress and not to mention the withdrawall of credit on our small company which has nearly ruined us.
Do we have a case for compensation?
Any advice/thoughts would be really appreciated.

  • Hi you could spend a lot more time and money trying to sort this out. Why not try putting the complaint to the financial ombudsman to look at. Send what proof you have and how you have been damaged by this and I for one totally understand what this has done to you. They can advise you on compensation or I believe request it on your behalf if they find you have lost out. The service is free but with all the problems about at the moment it can take 4 to 9 months for them to sort it and make a decision. Worth a try though for free. I just hope the Ј100 was refused as you may have accepted this in full and final settlement.
I have a complaint with them at the moment because of a cifas (fraud) marker on our credit file. A morgage broker filled out the form without asking me hardly any of the questions on the form and made up answers as she went along on at least two of our mortgage applications (have buy to lets) they offered Ј50 Yes a whole Ј50 in compensation WITHOUT the removal of the cifas (because it never came from them they caused it). The trouble this has caused I think only yourself can understand being in business. At this moment in time with squeeky clean credit report we can't even get a mobile phone.
