A question about : New (!) England

Oh how I *wish*!!!!!

Ok, if you could re-invent our little bit of the world, how would *you* like your England to be?

Clearly we can't change the climate, but we can dream of a better England

• Longer summers, get rid of Blair and Co (although not sure what I'd replace them with!), change some laws, make jail terms fit the crime, and ensure life means life.
  Sorry, probably a bit too heavy...
• I must admit that it makes me think of New England in the USA. I'm hoping that the Patriots win the Superbowl (like the Boston Red Sox won the World Series), to keep the party spirit going in Boston.
  If I could make changes to England, it would be to go back to the days when the majority of school children either walked or cycled to school each day. To have free NHS eye examinations, sufficient NHS dentists to meet demands, police constables either cycling or walking the beat. To make hospital car parking free on production of a valid appointment card. To ban all car clamping firms.
• Yes, I was thinking that Nile, Boston is lovely...
• I would like to see some PRIDE in England and to make St Georges Day a bank holiday............................I think that I've seen England at its best when it's come together to celebrate something, like the Silver Jubilee, VE day etc, it's great seeing everyone come together and do street parties etc, community pride and spirit!!! Unfortunately apathy sets in all too easy though.
