A question about : myHermes Postage

Hi,

I was just wondering if any of you guys are familiar with the ParcelShop Service. Basically, as you know, you need to print this label at the end of the booking. The problem is the label a bit too big for the item I am sending - can I cut off all the other details such as delivery address etc which I will write by hand and just stick the bare barcode ?

Best answers:

  • Can you not reduce the size of the label as you print it?
  • Could you use a larger packet or envelope to suit the label? Otherwise I suppose you could fold the label around the parcel so that it can all be read if the parcel is turned.
  • When i use the UPS access points the labels generally print A5, i just reduce these at the printing stage, so it fits the parcel as long as the address and barcode can be read/scanned you will be fine
  • Thanks guys - thing is, the box is quite small lol... its like 8 x 8 x 7 cm!
So I need to reduce the barcode quite a bit just to get it fitted haha... But I guess thats the way forward. Thanks!
  • Print your label to pdf, open in an image editor such as Photoshop and change the size to suit.
I'd also trim another copy of the label in Photoshop to just the barcode full size and stick that to the parcel separately just to make sure.
  • myHermes network isn't really designed for tiny things, so you're risking a higher chance of loss/damage.
It said somewhere on their website (I can't find it now though, doh!) that every parcel have to have one side a minimum of A5 size.
