- Yes Nessie that's right, and indeed and other capital items (stations as well as train sets, and upgrades). They will recover more of the money by increasing non standard fares (eg 'advanced purchase' and rail card fares) Some companies may have to do this drastically or may just hand back the franchise ( as did National Travel) if the Government does not compensate them. It's a vote catching gimmick really for London commuters the squeezed middle :-)
