A question about : Mis-selling by Wish Communications

Has anyone been stitched by a company called Wish Communications, a partner with Vodafone? :(

Best answers:

  • You may want to be more specific, with details of the issue and who Wish are. I daresay there may be more than one phone supplier called Wish... Do you mean https://www.wishcommunications.co.uk
  • Unfortunately the company that i work for also took out a contract through Wish Communications for Vodafone, and the whole thing has been absoloutley diabolical.
We still have 18 months remaining on the contract, we have no service or signal on any of our phones.
Since we took the contract out and the problems started immediately Vodafone have been and done a check in the area and we are in a area where we can not receive a signal.
Vodafone and Wish have said that there is nothing further they can do - they are in breach of there contract but will not let us cancel it unless we pay Ј14,000 in termination fees. Alternatively we have been told we can carry on with no signal for the remainder of the contract or we can pay to have multiple masts fitted at Ј4000 each which may help but it is not guaranteed.
The overall customer service and satisfaction with Wish and Vodafone is very very poor and I would advise anyone who is considering using these companies to seriously re-consider.
Also something Wish do not tell you at time of contract is that after your first 12 months your costs treble in monthly.
Please anyone researching before signing do not make the same mistake my company did.
  • So didn't the person responsible for the contract first check that a Vodafone signal could be received at the required location? For a personal buyer, that's careless. For a corporate buyer, it's just negligent.
Mobile contracts are minimum term but not fixed price-they can increase at any time.
Wish nor Voda do not guarantee service in every location, so they are not in breach of contract.
  • " or we can pay to have multiple masts fitted at Ј4000 each which may help but it is not guaranteed. "
so you pay 14000 for the service then pay 4000 per each mast, well you could put your own mobile masts up to save money or buy a pay as you go mobile on all 5 uk networks then you can be succesful
  • Thank you for your information Damant. I am preparing to complain to Ofcom, and all the statutory bodies that I can think of. Would you be able to send me some more information? Where are you? Wish communications and Vodafone mis-led many businesses in South Wales.
So many people have been taken in by the way that they sell that something must be done. Small businesses can't afford to pay treble the monthly payments in the second year. The courts will say that we should have paid attention to the small print but if they are using fraudulent techniques, Wish Communications and such like companies must pay for their mis-selling. The Ombudsman won't do it. We need to act as a group and maybe we can get this sorted out.
Do not touch " Wish Communications" or Vodafone Partner Services, whatever you do. You have been warned.
  • I was sold a contract by Wish Communications and my monthly payment trebled in the second year. When they sell you a contract, they don't tell you that each sim card is payable. The salesmen gave me 12 sim cards saying that the government is subsidising small businesses and I could give them to family and friends. When I received my first bill, it was Ј126 for the first sim and every sim is charged by Vodafone @ Ј25. Vodafone told me then that my cancellation charges would be over Ј5000. Once I had signed the contract, that was it. The ombudsman is partial and sided with Wish communications. Wish Communications do not divulge these costs until afterwards. I asked the salesman and he was adamant that the monthly charges would be the same throughout the 24 month contract. They mask the first 12 months with a discount, then they don't tell you what the second year monthly payment would be. This can't be right. How can a small business budget and plan? The type of contract is unfair and I would be very grateful if someone with a law background can help me.

  • I am only a sole trader, running a very small business. I had no idea of the unfriendly world of mobile contracts. We had a good relationship with single contracts with O2 and T-Mobile, but the salesman told us that we would save money by combining them into a business contract. He deliberately mis-led us into thinking that the contract would be Ј90 a month for the 24 months. We did not ask for 12 SIM cards. In the end they disconnected 7 of them when we complained. They gave us an Ipad only, no phones were offered.
It means that I will end up being over Ј1500 out of pocket after 2 years. I was trapped once I signed. We were not given line rental costing or the terrible disconnection charges by Vodafone of over Ј5000!. We could not afford to have taken the contract to a solicitor, as we always had a good experience before. Did not realise we were being stitched by the severe contractual obligations.
Just like Damant, there are many such cases on the internet . This type of selling has to stop.

  • I to have had similar experiences as those before me on here, once we were out of contract (and even that was difficult to find out from wish communications now trading as Olive, I had to make at least 4 phone calls and no one ever gets back to you!) I then made it my mission to complain to Vodafone and get the information I needed to get away from Wish myself. If you need a pac code or want to cancel your contract, you need to email vpssalesretentions@help.vodafone.co.uk. Use the email which is registered with the company, include in your email, your account no, mobile nos, your contact no including the contact no of the company registered and give a brief description of what you need.
I did this, next day I had notification of when would be disconnected from wish
Gone direct with Vodafone now, so much easier.
  • I dont know if anyone can help me in this situation but I am tearing my hair out! Firstly I had no communication regarding Wish Communications moving over to Olive (but there all the same people, they just changed company name due to the fact of how many complaints they were getting). I cancelled my contract with what I thought was Wish due to the fact of the phones which they gave me didnt work what so ever, I dont know if anyone else had problems with the nokia lumias? They wouldn't replace them, only fix them without a replacement handset so we would be without mobile phones, which is pointless? So we were stuck. I moved over to another company. The first time I heard from Olive was 3 months after I cancelled my contract with a massive bill demanding payment. I then also receive a massive bill from Vodafone, so now I have been charged twice for cancelling my contract. They gave me no warning of the charges, until 3 months later when it was too late to do anything about it. Not only are they charging me for my line rental, they are charging for the phones (which didn't work), the sims (which are normally free) and the line rental on top of vodafones bill. Has anyone else had the same this now with Olive?

  • I have already spoken to Vodafone partner services and they are quite happy with Olive charging these extreme amounts and say they have the right to do this. So I am stuck with no option to pay these amounts. As a customer of vodafone I feel like I have been very badly treated with the fact that they are using these middle man companies and charging businesses the earth even though the hardware in my case which was supplied didn't hold up there end of the contract. It is an appalling way to treat customers.
