A question about : The Make Money For Christmas Challenge

Hello all,

In the last few weeks with the weather turning, the 'C' word has been thrown around a fair bit (no, not THAT C word!)

In 18 weeks to the day it will be Christmas Day and that got me thinking; wouldnt it be lovely to have money put aside when the Sainsburys sale starts in October? Or when Tesco has a toy sale? Or when Amazon slashes its prices? instead of adding to debt?

So Ive thought of a challenge to help ease the burden of finding the extra money for the gifts for the kids and family- The Make Money For Christmas Challenge!

Use this thread for motivation to earn extra, heres some ideas of how;

Set your own weekly challenge as only you know how much you need. Im in the challenge for Ј20 per week.

• I did a car boot sale yesterday and made Ј85,72 profit but I dont think I'll add it all to this challenge. Think I'll add Ј10 and make up the rest of the week from ebay

  I was in sainsburys earlier and noted that they had a toy sale. It felt really good to pick up some super cheap toys that I had put by in only the short space of time this challenge has been going!
• I've won Ј27.02 today so i'll put Ј20 of that away for this challenge - i'm going to be away tomorrow for a week so I might not get the chance to do much til I get back :-)
• I'd like to join this challenge please! Yesterday I went through our finances and I'm sort of doing the second purse challenge.
  Each month my oh gets paid Ive planned SO to go into various accounts and also give ourselves and kids an allowance. We've totted up an overdraft building up to our move and we've both agreed to leave our bank cards at home starting today, oh gets paid tomorrow so all moneys I've planned to put aside go into the different bank pots.
  I did set a SOof Ј50 a month up for Xmas but il increase this to Ј60 to try n do the Ј15 a week one.
  Looking forward to xmas now I'm planning to have the extra cash for us which will help massively! Last year we went Ј450 overdrawn!!!
