A question about : Lucky Dip

Each Christmas i do a Lucky Dip box, just a box everyone who comes in can put hand in box and see what they pull out,

Every year i just hope the men get something they can use as theres very little in there for them title=Frown as i can never think of anything other than miniture deodrants (which i think is a bad dip as they get Smellies on the big day).

This year i,m going to wrap the girls stuff in pink, boys blue and neutral in silver.

But again i,m struggling with what to get for the men/boys--has anyone any ideas? ages range from teen to mid-thirtys, i can,t put any of there interests in incase they don,t get it--so everything in there has to be for anyone,

TIA

Best answers:

  • What sort of price range are you thinking for these gifts?
  • I try to stick at Ј1 or under as its just a fun box really and with all the other expense i don,t really want to go a lot on the box.
  • The supermarkets often have mini smellies eg shower gels/anti bac hand gels. I would also look in savers or if you want silly presents how about a hawkins bazaar?
Also keep an eye on Ј shops where you might be able to get things that look like they should cost more or buy bigger packs of things and wrap them individually so the price per item is
  • My family does this for us.
Mens gifts include, Silly Socks, Shoe polish kits, those wooden 3D puzzle things, chocolates. She does manage to get a lot of good stuff very cheap as well.....I think I did better from the Lucky dip then I did with my "proper" presents!
  • Scratch cards ?
it's a bit cliche, but how about car/cycle related items ? Looking on the poundland website, they're doing stuff like
    windscreen covers
    scrapers
    bicycle seat covers
    bike wheel repair kit
    and gardening stuff:
    garden dibber
    wind chimes
solar lights (although how useful one would be not sure....!)
    Ooo, and at Poundstretcher:
    5m retractable tape measure
    screwdriver set (Ј1.49)
    utility knife set (Ј1.99)
stuff that's available at other places:
    Rolson multifunction tool at Maplin
extendable fork (for snaffling that last potato !) at The Works
Union jack trolley token on EBay
Paracord bracelet on EBay or here for more designs
And, I've possibly saved the best till last. Don't click here if at work or easily offended
  • Thanks a few ideas there, tho not the last one Grimbal driving ones is out as the teens don,t drive as is the gardening--all they do is sit in it
But thanks for the ideas everyone they are helping
  • what about stationery items - christmassy pens, post-its, etc. Worth a look around the little technical bit in poundland as they often have things like headphones, screenwipes, phone covers, etc.
  • These may be a little outside your set price range, but I'm sure you'll be able to find some of these in the sales...
    Keyring/Lanyard
    Waterbottle/Collapsible water bottle
    Travel mug
    Small notebook
    Playing cards/dice game
    Handwarmers
    Small photo frame
    Mini torch
    Calendar
    Puzzle book
  • We were in B&M at the weekend and that's sort of place you wanna get Lucky dip presents from...They do a host random stuff! and very cheap too
  • Pack of cards? USB sticks/SD cards/other computery things?
  • Thanks for your Ideas everyone
  • What about spinners? Wilkos usually do wooden ones towards Christmas, although they have packs of six plastic ones in their party stuff all year round (95p). My teenage sons love spinners, and so does my nephew.
