A question about : Lots of athletics tickets on the site now (Wed evening)

Hope this helps someone who wants a ticket. Looks like every session and every price category available..

Edited to say there are also lots more tickets for a wide variety of events, not just athletics

• am trying to get some but just coming up as unavailble after 15mins..... grrr fingers crossed!
• Yeah, like all the others they're just coming up as unavailable after a really, really long wait. Have been clicking refresh for over 48 hours now and never seen anything different.. just lots of ghost tickets. The difference this evening is that there seem to be tons available. But I bet they're not really!
• Apparently there are 75,000 extra tickets being released across a variety of sports (excluding football), but only around 1,600 athletics tickets. Plus an extra 200,000 football tickets.

• I've got to the "front" in three different browsers now, only to be told they're not available. And I wasn't going for the cheapest ones either, as from past experience they're the first to go. Oh well.

• Seems to be at least a half hour wait on new searches now. Hanging on to the hope that some people will give up and things will ease up a little, but it's not helped by the site taking forever to update the true availability. So we could sit in a queue for half an hour for cat C tickets, not get them, and not knowing that cat D were actually still available. Boo.
  Edit - 6 failed searches now. And as before I'm getting different availability depending on both the browser I use, and the search terms I use e.g. searching by sport gives different results to searching by venue. Ticketmaster, sort it out!!

  I bet half of the country is on the website trying to get a few thousand tickets. The odds of winning the lottery are probably better.

• nope, and have been trying for an hour
• Nothing so far, and I've had upwards of ten attempts.. at more obscure stuff too and higher prices, not even the athletics.
  I've also been trying most of the last few days too.. clicking refresh on the site several times an hour and giving it a go on the ghost tickets.
  A lottery win probably would be easier.
• Put 4 lots of tickets in my basket (swimming, athletics, track cycling and gymnastics) but only the gymnastics was left at the point of payment. I browsing the site at the time they all appeared though so think I was on quite early. Been trying again since for other events but have just had the same problems as everyone else. Seems like most of twitter is trying to buy tickets (without much success)
  Edit - we didn't even buy the gymnastics in the end as it didn't really fit in with when we are in London so we'd have had to get an extra night in a hotel and extra train tickets and they were top price tickets so OH thought it was all getting a bit too pricey. By the time we'd argued over it, the payment screen had timed out :-(

  Might go to the big screen at hyde park again after it was a good atmosphere today and free
  Has anyone been to the screen at victoria park?
  Also went to covent garden today
  There is a free exibition at the opera house with history of olymics all the torches an get a free picture with the torch and a free brochure

• Ok, I know I should be pleased as I've finally got tickets - however in my haste I've got tickets for Cardiff (mens Bronze medal football) and I live near London - Doh!!
• The website does seem to be working a bit better now. It's updated and removed some of the sessions and cheaper tickets which presumably have been taken. I've just started a new search and it's saying 6 mins rather than 15+ before. Assume some people have just given up and gone to bed so it's quietened down a bit. A few people online and one real life friend have managed to get tickets!
