A question about : Liquidators/ credit cards
Hi . A sewing class I had paid for in advance has gone into liquidation. I paid Ј100 on my credit card and have started the process to claim it back , but I have been told by a friend that the liqidators can take the money off me and put it into the company's assets. Does anyone know if this is right please . If so is it worth the effort of claiming if I won't get it after all . Thanks in advance

- sorry I can't answer your question but you will get more response if you post it in the right place - this is the stoozing section
- Thank you ,not sure where to submit my question or what stoozing is. Not really up on all the lingo . Thanks
- The liquidators will use your money and you will become an unsecured creditor the same as anyone else and may be entitled to pennies in the pound back if anything - but as you paid by credit card the card company is jointly liable for the failure to supply the service and should refund the full cost of the course even if it was more than the Ј100 paid on the card.
- You posted in the wrong section of the forum, but here goes:
You should be able to make a Section 75 claim against your credit card company for breach of contract (i.e. not providing the service). Here's the MSE guide on it.
