Best answers:

  • What size?
  • Costco have some suitcases in store that look fantastic value for hard sided light suitcases.
Unfortunately I had just bought cases before I joined Costco!
  • I saw an aerolite suitcase in TKMaxx before, they look OK. But I didn't buy it as mine haven't broken yet.

Current having those superlight weight IT suitcase from Argos. They are OK, but don't offer much protection for the stuff inside.
Had a tripp suitcase from debenhams before. But I miss the front pocket as sometime you want to put the stuff in last minutes.
I suggest you either look for 26" or 29".
From my experience, if i fully pack my 26", it would come about 22 kg.
  • I previously had Sub-0 suitcase, which only lasted a couple of trips, was far too flimsy. Now have gone for the IT Megalite, which is still very lightweight, but much sturdier, and really happy with it.

  • Light suitcases are fine for hand luggage but won't last long being chucked about by baggage handlers. Either pay more for better quality and expect it to last or buy cheap and cheerful and get a few uses out of it and throw it away.
  • we have had a number of these so called lightweight cases and all have ended up damaged.
  • i'm flying with ryan air and their luggage allowance is only 15kg!!!
