A question about : Less than 12 weeks pregnant club!

Okay, not meaning to upset any of the lovely ladies on either 'trying for a baby' or 'MSE Preg 17' but does anyone feel slightly caught between the two as I do? The ladies on ttc are my virtual friends and I really don't want to outstay my welcome or annoy or be seen to be gloating or anything else. My own needs feel very different from the ladies on pg thread too as all I'm concerned about at the moment is getting this tiny little bean to 12 weeks, not buying a pram (sorry title=Stick). Also, I can't keep up with the thread, it's soooooo busy!

Could we see this thread as the 'pregnancy lite' thread or have I just managed to offend everyone!? title=EEK!title=Embarrassment

To start off, I'm 5 weeks today. Mc'd in July so am feeling very nervous at the moment not helped by the fact that I have very few symptoms that actually tell me I'm pg. I have my first midwife appointment next Tuesday which seems a bit weird. It's also my first milestone to get to as I'd lost the babies by the time I should have been there last time

  • Hey Hun,
Just wanted to send you some positive vibes.
I think having an early pregnancy thread is a very good idea.
I know the pregnancy thread can seem a bit overwhelming and some days it does move quite fast....
There is also often a surge of people due around the same time, and more get added to it in later stages because they didnt want to join too early, but a lot of people have recently joined after getting their BFP in the last couple of days so a lot of like staged people are on there for you.
I found it a lot easier to talk about certain elements of having baby, such as nursery stuff, reusable nappies as it kept my mind on more positive aspects of pregnancy and having a baby.
I too suffered a loss last year, and only found out at my scan. Had walked in there proud as a peacock asking for 5 photos and walked out with nothing.....
So a lot of people on the TTC thread and Pregnancy thread know how you may be feeling and are always there to listen....
Again though, just wanted to say congratulations xx
  • i'll join you! am currently 4 + 5 so very early days! very excited. have a daughter of 2 and a half too. have incredibley sore nipples, morning sickness and loss of appitite!
  • Good idea
But you guys are totally welcome on the PG and TTC thread still xxx
  • Fab idea Courgette; Hopefully will be joining you in the not too distant future but will continue to stalk this thread in the meantime!
    Good luck for MW.
    Ellie xx
  • Hi, i think it's a fab idea (i'm from the preg board so please forgive me for butting in lol) but i felt the same when i found out i was pregnant, kind of who to turn to without upsetting anyone, spesh the lovelies on TTC thread - i had a lot of probs, bleeding and was even told to expect a miscarriage by MW. I think the ladies on both threads gave me a hell of a lot of support even though i felt very bad asking certain things on each thread
Good luck with the club - i'm sure it'll help many (it've been nice for me back then) but please remember if you do want to ask anything feel free to pop in, many of us had hard times at the begining including threatened and previous miscariages. And we are always there to offer support no matter what stage you are at
I know how you feel though - even now i want to pop in and say hi to the ladies on the TTC board but then feel like i don't want seem like i'm gloating (I'm not at all, and i know it's all in my head as the ladies on the TTC board are some wonderful women who wouldn't feel that way about me at all).
  • What a super idea can I join.
I have just posted this on TTC thread sorry for copy and paste but cant be bothered re-typing..
    Well what a day...
We went of to the hospital for my emergency scan it was a disaster as they could not see anything. I saw a lovely consultant and they took blood and are doing so every 48 hours for the next week to monitor the HCG levels. The consulant kept reassuring us that maybe the pregnancy was just to early for them to see. To be honest it was all a very sad time.
So come home knowing I have to ring up tomorrow at 10 for the results from today then back again Christmas Eve for more blood.
Bit later on it sort of came to be I think I have my dates confused !! I think I am about 2-3 weeks out. Called the hospital and the consultant said that makes things much clearer as what she saw on the screen would echo that as there are changes to the womb lining preparing itself etc...she also said you would never see anything on the scan this early, now I have my dates a bit better So that made me feel better
She has done her best to re-assure me but she still wants to do blood tests to monitor HCG. The result they get tomorrow they use as a marker then the next result I get on Christmas Day !! Should be double tomorrows one if it is a 'healthy' pregnancy.
All in all a very stressful and draining day but I do feel more positive more. I also feel so stupid getting dates wrong...
  • Good idea courgette
I will sure to be stalking you all on here as well
I (personally) think it is nice for others who used to be on the TTC thread to 'pop' in sometimes as we all do love knowing how you are all getting on (some off us stalk the preg thread anyway!) and it does give me hope that some off you used to be on 'TTC' group but have now gone onto graduate to the pregnancy thread
Wish everyone the best off luck
  • Hi Courgette - I was fully intending to stay off here for a bit because I felt a bit foolish about banging on about my early bfp, and not considering that it could be too early . I was quite upset earlier.
So I would love to join you and the other 'inbetweeny' ladies here.
Tell me off someone...I did another test about an hour ago...and got the line again but still faintish, although not fainter than yesterdays so fingers crossed
    Sticky baby dust to everyone.
  • Congrats on your BFP's though ladies. I know when you have been trying for a while that alone is a relief - well it was for me It felt like the first hurdle if you like! x
Ok really i will !!!!!! off now :P
  • OH has bought a couple of the CB digital tests today Ellie, so will give those a go.
Is it best for me to wait until around my AF day (xmas eve) or can I use one this evening (I'm not obsessed...honest!)
Have done 2 First Response tests today alreadty, this mornings was a bit fainter than yesterday afternoons, and I started worrying, but then did another FR one about an hour ago and the line looked more like yesterdays...curioser and curioser!
  • Copied and pasted my reply from ttc thread:
Penny Im on the same wagon-back for more bloods tomorrow. Yesterday my HCG was 290. Just so you know-they cant see anything (and normally dont even do scans) until you hit 1000 on your hcg and even still they prefer to wait until 2000. I didnt even get a scan yesterday. According to my dates...Im 4+2 today.
Thankfully Ive been told to get bloods done and sent up to epu and then go and wait to see someone again, so I dont have to wait for after christmas.
Try not to stress too much, without getting too much info that'll freak you out-how far are you and what were your levels?
    And now my background:
I have a three and a half year old son and have been ttc number 2 since he was 18 months old. I have cerebral palsy and beans (4+2 today) daddy is not ds bio-dad.
Had a miscarriage at 7 weeks on mothering sunday this year (not the best day-had to cancel champagne brekkie on the london eye with friend flown in from America). Doctors were not very helpful and even refused a scan as I had no hcg in me by the time they tested-they were adamant it was "spontaeous and complete". Two months later and a very long story I was still miscarrying and went through all sorts of yukkies to get it sorted. And now my Angel baby has decided its time to join me again.
MV try to relax a bit. Have you been charting? There are some excellent chart stalkers on the ttc thread. I am only due af on christmas eve too according to my longest cycle-but I was charting and we saw an implantation dip, so I waited until 13 dpo (intended to wait for today at least). Used a cb digital and got my bfp. I guess what Im trying to say is whether its too early or not doesn't depend on when AF is due, but rather when you ov'd. If you're not familiar with this information then I'd say wait until at least a few days after AF due. Trust me-I know how hard it is, but the sanity you save by waiting is far more worth knowing if you can tell everyone.I had to go out on the day to buy a test because I stopped buying them in august-just had my cbfm pee sticks and my bbt chart.
Goodness, I have waffled a bitbut I hope it helps a bit...Im a little queasy...think I'll go clean the kitchen. Will check back later this evening when the house gets quiet.
  • Thanks polkadot...when you say charting do you mean following when AF comes/length of period/ov days etc?
If so then yes I have been doing this for the past 3 months (since we started ttc). I also used ov sticks this month and we BD'd on the right days according to that.
Had some spotting at the end of last week which didnt look like AF blood, so thought it may be implantation. That has stopped now and I have had 3 faint bfp's on early preg tests.
Not really feeling any symptoms except tiredness, but to be honest I've been a bit wiped out/stressed with work thae last few months, so now I'm on my Xmas holiday I think my body may just be telling me it needs a rest!
  • If you can see a very faint positive line ladies, then it is a positive. You never get false positives! Only false falses. The only reason you'd get a false positive is if it a chemical pregnancy.
    I can join ladies. I'm 5 weeks 3 days with number 2 so i'm due 21st August 2010.
  • I'd not even considered a chemical pregnancy! Thats what is worrying me. Oh well, I guess natures in charge isnt it!
Congrats on your BFP too Nemeromanova
  • MV - i think they are ok to use from 1 week before period is due so you should be ok! I mean as long as you are not absolutely skint and can afford another (or two in the pack) then i don't see why not! I done mine the day after period was due
  • awesome!! thanks Ellie. OH has picked up a 2-pack today, so I shall have a read of the instructions and have a go later..thank you!
