A question about : Ј200 Google Phone voucher

Hi All,

I have won a complimentary Ј200 voucher that can be used towards purchasing a Google phone, what do people recommend? I require a new phone and this has came at exactly the right time.

• Well the only 2 phones in the Play store at the moment are the Nexus 5 and 6, so you won't be suffering from choice paralysis

  Does a Motorola count as a Google phone? After all they were owned by Google when the X or G were made. Does any android count as a google phone?

  If you need to spend it on a phone then you will need to add at least Ј100 for a nexus 5 - and that is if they ever get them back in stock.
• Thanks, I have a friend interested in buying the voucher off me. Are there better/cheaper phones out there than Google? I'm currently on a Nexus 4 but I'm looking to upgrade a little.

• Unless the friend is willing to buy the voucher for more than Ј180, what's the point in selling it and then buying Nexus 6 for Ј479 from Giffgaff instead of Ј499 from Google?
  I think the question was about other phones besides Google phones.
• The Moto G 4g (Ј99 from tesco) is very popular. (its easy to unlock for only a couple of quid from ebay)
  Or you can get the sim free version for Ј125 -Ј150 from various shops i.e. argos/amazon/tesco etc.

• ahh I missed the Nexus 4 post.
  Sell the voucher and keep the cash unless the nexus 4 battery is driving you nuts - Because for a worthwhile upgrade you will need to spend a fair bit more cash.
