Best answers:

  • I've just had mine today as I do every year. Get it free due to my health.
  • Had one once after a major op but that was years ago.
    Never had one since.
  • I had mine done 3 weeks ago at doctors I didnt have to pay as I am in at risk group ie asthma. It works for me only drawback I get is stiff arm and occasionally feel mildly unwell. Use to have colds regularly cold
  • My work pay for us to have them done - cheaper to prevent staff going off ill than cover when they are!
I should be having mine in 2 weeks time ...
  • Yes, had mine 9 days ago, think they should give them out earlier, many people have some sort of illness now and can't have theirs when they are scheduled
  • I would very much like to have my flu jab but it seems to be a right old palaver getting the bliddy thing!!!
Last year...three appointments for 'jabbing' were cancelled as the surgery ran out of vaccine despite them saying in the letter 'a flu vaccine has been reserved for you'!
This year, been trying to phone for an appointmnet for the last 10 days....phone always engaged...looked at their website and some 'sick' idiot has hijacked their phone line and nobody can get through. Police investigating. Got the bus to the surgery to make the appointment to be told no more appointments available at the mo...ring after the 23rd Oct. Ahem!!!!
    *Sigh*
  • Had one about 10 Years ago which gave me the flu. Never had one since then and never would again.
  • Well I guess it didn't stop me catching the flu.
  • I started having mine when I lived in Spain at about age 60 as I got them free (as my husband's dependent).
Here I have to pay as I am not yet 65 nor in a risky group.
My husband has always had to pay here, but this year has not had to, I told them he'd had pleurisy and pneumonia in the past and he got it free. I told them this last year too, but he still had to pay. Next year he will be 65, so he won't have to pay again.
My son gets it done through his work, so does his girlfriend.
  • I had my flu jab on Saturday.
I have it every year - only in my 50s but I am in an 'at-risk' group so get the jab for free.
  • I'm going tomorrow, i'm booked in for first thing in the morning. Must put my alarm clock on tonight, just in case.
  • Planning to attend a drop-in session at GP surgery on Saturday.
When I was a sessional teacher (working 5 days a week for the same place), regular employees were offered free flu jabs but sessional teachers weren't because if we had flu and couldn't work they wouldn't pay us. So that was cost saving for the employer.
  • I had my first one in 1979 or 1980 and have had one every year since; never had flu in 35 years. And never paid for it.
