A question about : In Iva and now received offer from PPI

I wonder if someone could advise me plaese..My husband has been in IVA for 3 years and we have struggled to pay it but always managed to.Now out of the blue he has received a letter from MBNA saying that a claim that was refused in 2010 has now been looked at again and that he does in fact qualify and that a cheque will arrive in 28 days. Will he have to pay all this into the IVA..He was diagnosed with throat cancer 8 months ago and after several laser ops things are looking good but we obviously dont really Know if things will stay that way..He is 65 in a few weeks time and i am 63..We live in a house with old aluminium single glazed windows .Several of our windows actually have broken glass in them and as you can imagine we cannot afford to replace them...do you think the IVA company would allow us to keep the money to sort this out.. would be grateful for any advice

Best answers:

  • PPI refunds would go to your IVA. You need to speak to your IP about possible payment break for essential works to your property.
    Good luck
  • Hello Mavon, Foxy-Stoat is correct. The PPI must be paid in full to the IVA provider. Speak to them about works on the property, you will probably keep the interest part of the PPI but that will be sent to you after the calculations have been made. Best of luck
